In October 2021, Zhejiang held the "Liangzhu Lanxiu Poetry Road Searching" poetry and painting Zhejiang theme promotion activity, integrating Liangzhu culture, Zhejiang style and costume art, and showing Chinese culture to the world through online and offline synchronous live broadcasting.

The China Silk Museum is the world's largest professional silk museum, and the costumes in this collection were created by the famous costume designer Xiong Ying, and were displayed at the "Liangzhu Lanxiu Poetry Road Searching" poetry and painting Zhejiang theme promotion activity.

Xiong Ying, who strives to show traditional Chinese culture with clothing, did his "homework" before creating: visiting the Liangzhu Museum and liangzhu ancient city ruins park to understand liangzhu culture at close range.

In the end, using silk as the carrier, she extracted the "Divine Emblem Totem" pattern of Liangzhu culture, as well as elements such as jade and symbols, and integrated the patterns of flowers, trees, birds and animals with Jiangnan characteristics and cultural landscapes for production.

"There are also multiple intangible cultural heritage techniques used in the costume." She said that the work "Divine Emblem" uses processes such as coiled gold, hook thread, semi-hand embroidery and 3D positioning printing, and the clothing is also embroidered with the face of the gods, men and beasts.

The work "Drunken Ink" uses the bamboo knot pattern and string pattern excavated from the Liangzhu site as a decoration for the collar and cuffs. The reporter saw that there are three-dimensional gold wire embroidery combined with seeds, plates and other processes at the skirt and placket of the garment.

When talking about why the China Silk Museum collects this batch of clothing, Zhao Feng, director of the China Silk Museum, said that in a sense, they are not only clothing, they tell the story of Liangzhu, silk and Chinese civilization.

In Liangzhu, archaeologists found spinning wheels and looms. It can be said that through research, we have received signals from ancient silk. Zhao Feng said that the costumes in this collection interpret the story of silk and jade in the Liangzhu civilization, and also reveal why the Liangzhu culture is so important and why the Chinese civilization is so brilliant.

Xu Peng, a member of the party group, deputy director and first-class inspector of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Zhejiang Province, said that he hopes that through the display of these costumes in the China Silk Museum, the essence of Zhejiang's humanities will be explained in modern, fashionable and international language, so that people can better understand Zhejiang.
