The China Silk Museum (hereinafter referred to as "National Silk") was approved by the National Tourism Administration in 1986 and jointly prepared by the Ministry of Textile Industry and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province. On December 28, 1987, under the Jade Emperor Mountain in Hangzhou, the China Silk Museum broke ground and was officially completed and opened on February 26, 1992. On January 1, 2004, it took the lead in implementing free public opening in the country, and in September 2016, it was renovated and expanded, and the new museum was opened during the G20 Hangzhou Summit.

Today, we are here, together. From the 90-year-old Mr. Ren Rubing, to the youngest Wang Yilan, Pan Lu, Meng Boyan and Ye Ye, from the first Engineer Lai Chengxun who came here to prepare for the construction, to Chen Yuan, Ying Haitao, Yang Wenyan, Chen Jiayun and Sun Yiliu, the latest entrants to the museum, from the first curators Ling Caicai and Xiao Ge, to the current youngest museum leaders Xia Danhe and Zhou Yang.

Standing on the threshold of the 30th anniversary of the China Silk Museum, I join everyone in celebrating our own 30th birthday.

At this moment, the sun is shining brightly today, just after the ice and snow world and the cold winter moon, just like the National Silk has gone through thousands of hardships in the past 30 years and ushered in an unprecedented good time. 1986 project to 1992 open is the preparatory stage, 1992 open to 1999 is the first stage, after a short period of opening happiness, immediately fell into the dilemma of human and financial dilemma, wages can not be issued, many new employees left, the second stage is 2000 to 2009, the development is still far away, the third stage is 2010 to the present, we successfully declared the human intangible cultural heritage, successfully won the key scientific research base, we doubled the domestic and foreign fashion collection, We won the lawsuit and got the land back, we completed the renovation and expansion before the G20, and finally broke the cocoon and entered a stage of rapid development.

Every scene and every moment that has passed in the past 30 years is vividly remembered, just like yesterday. In the garden covered with ice and snow again and again, the exhibition halls of mountain floods were flooded again and again, and they used all their hearts and minds to expand the preparation of the scriptures, kowtowed to people for funds, worried about fighting lawsuits, had no choice but to borrow debts for paying wages, ran all over the country to collect cultural relics, went deep into archaeology to dig graves and undressed, racked their brains in scientific research, exhibited and arranged exhibitions all night long, sweated and shed tears on capital construction, and spread social and religious propaganda and meditated hard.

Walk to the end of the water and sit and watch the clouds rise. Over the past 30 years, I would like to thank all generations of National Silk people, whether it is after the preparation or completion, whether it is the leaders or employees, whether it is inside or outside the department, whether inside or outside the museum, it is the joint efforts of everyone, unremitting struggle, we have come to today step by step.

For 30 years, the collection has grown from scratch. By the end of 2021, the total collection of our museum is 69,465 pieces, and a collection system covering ancient and modern Chinese and foreign silk, textile and clothing themes has been initially established, and a textile cultural relics specimen library and database with complete chronological genealogy, clear archaeological information and complete varieties have been formed, and a chinese silk cultural relics design material library covering the world has been constructed.

In the past 30 years, the exhibition has become more and more refined. In addition to the basic display of the four major sections of history, intangible cultural heritage, cultural protection and fashion, we have also launched a series of exhibitions on the Silk Road, traditional costumes, Chinese fashion and international fashion themes for a long time, with an average of more than 20 exhibitions every year, and a long-term Dunhuang silk exhibition in the Exhibition Center of Dunhuang Research Institute, and a long-term National Silk Fashion Museum will be opened in Hangzhou Mansion tomorrow. In 2006, 2017 and 2021, it won the National Exhibition Excellence Award three times.

Over the past 30 years, the research has become more and more in-depth. We have undertaken 2 major national scientific research projects, 8 national projects, nearly 30 provincial and ministerial projects, and more than 40 other research projects. Signed one cooperation project with UNESCO, and led or participated in nearly 10 major international cooperation projects. He has won 5 national publishing funds, published nearly 50 monographs, and published more professional academic papers.

In the past 30 years, social education has become more and more active. In China, it is the first to implement free opening and weekend night opening, to create a female red transmission hall, Silk Road Night, National Silk Hanfu Festival, Tian dyeing Biennale, Silkworm Township Moon Order, Silk Road Tour and other social education brands, to carry out special knowledge services such as the Jinglun Lecture Hall and the "National Silk Five Ones", and to carry out activities such as silk into the campus and Silk Road culture into the campus. Before the epidemic, the average annual audience was about 700,000.

In the past 30 years, cooperation has become more and more extensive. In China, it has carried out various cooperation with Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, Zhejiang University, China Academy of Art, Donghua University, Peking University, Shanghai University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and other professional institutions. International cooperation is increasing, and international platforms are becoming more and more extensive. Initiated the establishment of the China Sericulture Silk Weaving Technology Protection Alliance and the International Silk Research Alliance of the Silk Road, mainly participating in the Silk Road International Museum Alliance, the Silk Road Cultural Relics Science and Technology Innovation Alliance, the International Silk Alliance, especially the Silk Road Week as a major platform for international cooperation, has received strong support from domestic and international institutions.

Over the past 30 years, it has become more and more widely disseminated. Actively broaden the publicity channels, build a communication matrix that combines domestic and international mainstream media and social media, and initially form major topics such as national silk as IP, silk of the Silk Road, Silk Road Week, national silk Hanfu festival, and national silk fashion, and gradually enhance the communication power and influence of national silk at home and abroad.

Over the past 30 years, the foundation has gotten better and better. At present, there are 5 departments in the library, with a staff of 51 people, 47 people who are actually on the job, and 42 people who are non-staff for a long time, including 32 party members and 17 people with senior professional titles. There is a key scientific research base of the State Administration of Cultural Relics for the Protection of Textile Cultural Relics, and there are 7 workstations throughout China and abroad, which are preparing to build the Silk Road Cultural Research Institute, and also jointly build an international silk college with Zhejiang Sci-Tech University.

In short, in the past 30 years, we have grown from scratch, from all to good to excellent. At present, we are already a national first-class museum, ranking in the top ten, once won the title of the most innovative museum, three times won the national top ten exhibition quality award, twice won the second prize of the National Cultural Heritage Innovation Award. We are currently sprinting towards a world-class museum!

Standing on the threshold of the 30th anniversary of the museum, we looked around the four fields, the mood was vast, the spring breeze was rising, the spring water was warm, the spring was germinating, the spring tide was surging, China's museums had encountered the best opportunity for development, and another spring of the development of the National Silk Had arrived.

The development of the China Silk Museum has been written into various important documents. The "Silk Road Culture Research Institute" was included in the "Implementation Plan for Zhejiang High-quality Development and Construction of Common Prosperity Demonstration Zone", the "International Silk Road Silk Research Alliance" was written into the "14th Five-Year Plan" and "Belt and Road" Cultural and Tourism Development Plan, the "Silk Road Week" was written into the "Action Plan for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to Support Zhejiang Province to Build a Cultural Highland in the New Era with High Quality and Promote the Construction of common prosperity Demonstration Zone", and the "Digital Silk Road Culture" project has been included in the "Zhejiang Provincial Digital Reform Major Application Account". In addition, the 14th Five-Year Plan for Cultural Relics and Museums in Zhejiang Province also clearly mentions that our tasks are:

1. The silk culture is included in the Zhejiang cultural identification system with high popularity and clear recognition, and the Silk Road Cultural Research Institute has become a major construction project with international vision, national standing and Zhejiang logo.

2. Digital reform: Comprehensively sort out China's silk cultural relics resources, build the Silk Road Digital Museum, and build an interactive map of world silk.

3. International cooperation: open cooperation and exchange projects, hold activities such as "Silk Road Week", and build international cooperation platforms such as the International Silk Road Research Alliance. Carry out international cultural relics protection projects.

4. Integration of culture and tourism: Promote cooperation between the China Silk Museum and the International Silk Alliance and the West Lake Scenic Area to jointly create a world-class tourist attraction with profound silk cultural heritage.

5. Cultural relics science and technology: focus on improving the key scientific research base of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage (China Silk Museum) for the protection of textile cultural relics, focus on promoting the research and development and demonstration projects of key technologies of the world's silk interactive map, and promote projects such as the Zhejiang Cultural Research Project "Chinese Silk Art Department".

Standing on the threshold of 30 years, we began to pick up colored pens, full of enthusiasm, focusing on depicting the future of the China Silk Museum. At the beginning of 2021, we formulated the 14th Five-Year Development Plan for the National Silk Road, and also drew a medium- and long-term plan for 2035, drawing an outline for our next 30 years.

We focus on a purpose: the museum is to take Chinese silk as the core, carry out the collection, protection, research, display, inheritance and innovation of textile and apparel cultural heritage, with international vision, national standing and Zhejiang as the demand for themselves, based on research to promote silk history, scientific and technological protection, traditional crafts and contemporary fashion four major plates of work, serving the coordinated development of culture, economy and society. Make it a temple for the protection and inheritance of China's excellent traditional silk culture.

We follow two main lines: one is from ancient times to the present, tell the story of silk, do a good job in the research, protection, display, inheritance and innovation of silk textile and clothing culture, and become a cultural bridge connecting ancient and modern times. The other is to carry forward the spirit of the Silk Road from the middle to the outside, give play to the power of museums in cultural exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, and play a special role in international people-to-people exchanges.

We adhere to four characteristics: the whole chain: take scientific and technological protection as the leader, let cultural relics live and live, and revitalize traditional crafts. Research-oriented: Based on scientific research, it leads the overall work of the museum and builds a research-oriented museum. Internationalization: Taking silk as the starting point, we will create an international platform for silk road cultural research. Fashion Fan: Take fashion as a platform to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of silk culture and empower a better life.

We create six first-class: people-centered, become the cultural center serving the audience, industry, community and sustainable development of society, create first-class collection, first-class exhibition, first-class communication, first-class scientific research, first-class team, first-class management, and finally strive to create a world-class (thematic) museum.

We want to build our surroundings, under the Jade Emperor Mountain, south of the West Lake, between Phoenix and Jiuyao, into a world-class tourist attraction with profound silk cultural heritage, and a landmark display area of Chinese civilization: the National Silk Garden. We also want to expand our extension, build a museum with two wings, and add an intangible cultural heritage branch and a fashion branch.

We often say, thirty and standing. In the long river of human history, 30 years is just a moment; in the 5,000 years of silk history, 30 years is only a white horse gap; and in the life cycle of the China Silk Museum, 30 years is just a beginning.

Standing on the threshold of 30 years, one foot is still stepping on the past, we are here to celebrate our birthday, the other foot has stepped into tomorrow, we are here to warm the old and start a new journey, embark on a new journey of the Silk Road.

At this moment, I am repeating the three sentences I said when I began to govern the national silk 12 years ago: less tossing, ensuring peace, and seeking development.

At this moment, I still have to say to my colleagues: Don't ask, what can your national silk do for you, but ask, what can you do for your national silk?
