It is the top anti-theft fortification in the tomb of the ancient emperor, to put it bluntly, it is a "wooden box" around the outside of the emperor's coffin. The wood used to create this wooden box is called "yellow intestine", which is a peeled cypress wood core material with a pale yellow color. The "inscription" refers to the direction in which these woods are placed, which is centered on the coffin, arranged radially, layered on top of each other, and the coffin inside is tightly enclosed.
Here, some people may wonder, how can such a coffin protected by wood be able to prevent the tomb robbers who are "skillful in their hearts"? Isn't it over with a fire?
As you may know, these hundred-year-old or thousand-year-old cypress woods are all the best in wood, which are rich in oil and fat, have excellent water resistance and corrosion resistance, and were used to build city gates in ancient times, and the fire performance is naturally first-class.
Moreover, each "yellow intestine" in the structure is at least 6 to 7 meters, and the conservative estimate is 300 kilograms. Even in some ancient tombs, the "yellow intestine inscription" has become the main load-bearing structure, directly to the ceiling of the tomb. But whenever it is destroyed, the burial chamber will have no load-bearing beams and will collapse quickly. No matter how you look at it, the tomb robbers can't do anything with this thing.
Because of the "yellow intestine inscription", many thousand-year-old imperial tombs escaped the fate of theft. For example, the Han Tomb in Tianma Mountain in Changsha and the Tomb No. 6 of the Duke of Qin in Shaanxi Province, archaeologists have found evidence of the failure of tomb robbers when they entered the scene.
Although it is very safe, the "yellow intestine inscription" is also a double-edged sword, the tomb robbers can not get their hands on it, and the archaeologists who carry out cultural relics rescue are also very difficult.
