Duan Zhiqiang of Xuchang Cultural Relics and Archaeology Research and Administration Is entitled "2021 Xuchang Archaeological Excavation Work Report". This year, in cooperation with urban infrastructure, our firm has completed a total of 61 archaeological exploration projects with an exploration area of 2.89 million square meters, and completed 12 excavation projects with an excavation area of 5430 square meters. The content of this report is the two main projects of Xuchang Yutong and Xuchang Huagang Printing. After several years of excavations in the area, there is a certain understanding. In particular, the discovery of this road from the Han Dynasty period, combined with the excavation process in the northern area of the project in 2020, in addition to the excavation of 11 Han tombs, there is also a Han Dynasty kiln site, which is likely to be dedicated to the various building materials used in the construction of tombs in the cemetery (such as hollow bricks, mother-daughter bricks, small bricks, etc.). In addition, the cemetery has many and dense tombs, but there is not much broken relationship between the tombs, so it seems that the layout of the cemetery has been planned in advance, such as roads, kilns and other supporting facilities are relatively complete. Based on the characteristics of the excavated pottery, copper coins and bronze mirrors, it is speculated that the area should be a small and medium-class cemetery from the middle and late Western Han Dynasty to the Wang Mang period.
