On May 18, the Yuexiu District Cultural Relics Museum Management Center integrated "Museum Fever", "Archaeological Fever" and "Experiential Cultural Tourism", and launched the Yuexiu District Museum Day theme research activity "Exploring Yuexiu - Yuexiu Research City Walk" around the theme of "Museums Committed to Education and Research" on the 2024 International Museum Day, launching a multi-sensory and multi-dimensional research experience in the form of interactive practice.

In-depth study of "Treasure Yuexiu"
Yuexiu is the birthplace of Cantonese culture, with more than 2,000 years of cultural relics and monuments from 8 dynasties gathered in the area, which is an excellent position to carry out archaeological research and vividly present the historical context of the city.
Focusing on the theme of "Museums Committed to Education and Research" on the 2024 International Museum Day, the Yuexiu District Cultural Relics Museum Management Center combines the historical and cultural resources of Yuexiu District to launch the theme research of "Little Feet Deeply Study Guangzhou City", organically combining various forms such as "theme exhibition visit + historical site visit + archaeological experience" to lead cultural and museum lovers to deeply study "Treasure Yuexiu" and explore the historical evolution of Guangzhou City.
On the morning of May 18th, the research group first started a learning journey in the temporary exhibition hall of the Nanyue Xianxian Museum, and under the leadership of the research instructor of the Yuexiu District Cultural Relics Museum Management Center, the students visited the "Gongwei Guangzhou - Guangzhou Urban Defense Historical Sites Exhibition" to understand the rise of Guangzhou City, the development of Guangzhou urban defense construction and the protection and utilization of urban defense historical sites. After the exhibition, the research group passed through the Beijing Road Academy Group and felt the cultural atmosphere of the ancient Yuexiu Academy Group in Guangzhou.
Subsequently, under the guidance of the research teacher, the research group walked into the popular science lecture hall of "Into Archaeology" at the archaeological site of Xiaoma Station-Liushuijing Ancient City Wall Site, and started the field archaeology career experience on the archaeological site, fully combining theory and practice, hands-on and brain-moving, while understanding the basic knowledge of archaeology and feeling the development history of Guangzhou urban area, and immersing themselves in the charm of field archaeological work. At the end of the event, the Yuexiu District Cultural Relics Museum Management Center issued a research certificate to the students, fully affirming the enthusiasm of the members of the research group to learn and inherit the historical context of Guangzhou.
The "Exploring Yuexiu - Yuexiu Research City Walk" research activity is a new research brand created by the Yuexiu District Cultural Relics Museum Management Center, which strives to promote the depth and breadth of the museum's work and services, and vividly interprets the global theme of "the museum is committed to education and research". It will integrate the four major resources of Yuexiu District's cultural and historical venues, red revolution venues, Maritime Silk Road cultural relics, and festivals and folk activities, and combine "scientific research support" and "education promotion" to show the new cultural brilliance of Yuexiu to the public in multiple dimensions.
