Unable to live peacefully with the disease, the fate of the teenager is uncertain
Zhang Peng comes from an ordinary migrant family in Mingsha Town, Zhongning County, Ningxia, and half a year ago he was still in his second year of high school at Zhongning Middle School, and he was a student with excellent character and learning.
Until July 2021, Zhang Peng went to the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University for examination due to severe abdominal pain, and diagnosed diseases such as decompensated period of cirrhosis, chronic liver failure, rupture and bleeding of varicose veins in the esophagus and gastric floor, and his barely peaceful life came to an abrupt end.
This is not a disease that occurs suddenly.
As early as the age of 2, Zhang Peng's body showed abnormalities, and he was examined in the hospital for "liver and spleen", and then went to many hospitals for examination, and was diagnosed with "liver glycogen accumulation", and the doctor recommended liver transplantation.
At that time, Zhang Peng's parents did not realize the seriousness of the problem. They are a poor couple who came out of the mountains of Gansu, have not received cultural education, their mother Huang Xiaoqiang is not even literate, after the family moved to Zhongning, the couple relied on odd jobs to make a living, supporting two children to go to school, and their lives were stretched.
When the doctor suggested giving Zhang Peng a liver transplant, they hardly dared to think about it, which was a huge expense that they could not afford. In addition, the child's body did not have much problem, so he chose to observe conservatively and do relevant examinations regularly every year.
Growing up to seven or eight years old, Zhang Peng's condition worsened, the development was not normal, his parents took him to Xi'an for treatment, the advice was still liver transplantation, that time they arranged a 21-day team in the west, did not wait for the bed, did not raise enough medical expenses, the school was about to open, they had to go home.
In this way, Zhang Peng grew to the age of 17, thinking that he could always live peacefully with the disease, who knew that he had unconsciously developed to the late stage of liver cirrhosis.
On the day he learned of the results, Zhang Peng and his family panicked, his parents were uneducated, and his brother took him and his mother to Peking Union Medical College Hospital for medical treatment.
Life is not familiar, every step is extremely difficult, tossing and turning for 2 months, the examination has just been done, before it is time to make a decision, Zhang Peng vomited blood and was unconscious.
After a day and a night of rescue, although he was out of danger of life, his body suddenly collapsed, weak and weak, unable to walk, squatting down and unable to get up, had to take a break from school to recuperate at home.
On October 22, 2021, Zhang Peng, who had not yet recovered, once again suffered from gastrointestinal bleeding, vomited blood, and rescued again, and his condition developed to an extremely critical stage, and he did not do liver transplant surgery again, and he could lose his life at any time.
Liver transplants cost a lot, but Mom doesn't want to give up
At the suggestion of the doctor of the General Hospital of Ningyi University, her mother took Zhang Peng to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University to wait for a liver transplant.
Where does the liver come from? Mom and Dad and brother are willing to donate, but because liver donation requires the donor and recipient to have the same blood type, the blood types of Dad and Brother are not matched, only Mom and Zhang Peng's blood type are the same.
However, due to the long-term illness of my mother, her physical condition was too poor to withstand the operation. Today, the only hope is to wait for someone else to donate.
Although he experienced many times of vomiting blood and rescuing, Zhang Peng did not know his true condition, from childhood to adulthood, his family has been hiding from him, and he can't bear to let him know that he is so seriously ill. It is reported that the total cost of liver transplantation is about 800,000 yuan, and the proportion of medical insurance reimbursement is very small, and most of them need to be self-funded.
And now, Zhang Peng's parents have already sold out what they can sell at home, borrowed all the relatives and friends who can open their mouths, and put together more than 80,000 yuan, this time hospitalization, rescue has long been spent, the next step mother Huang Xiaoqiang has not known what to do.
