Carl Gustav Jung (1875–1961) was a Swiss psychologist. In 1907, he began to cooperate with Sigmund Freud to develop and popularize psychoanalytic theory for 6 years, and then disagreed with Freud's ideas, parted ways, founded the Jungian theory of personality analysis psychology, put forward the concept of "complex", divided personality into introvert and extroversion, and advocated dividing personality into three layers: consciousness, individual unconscious and collective unconscious. He was president of the International Society for Psychoanalysis and President of the International Association for Psychotherapy, and founded the Jungian School of Psychology. He died in Switzerland on 6 June 1961. His theories and ideas still have a profound impact on psychological research today.
