Tesla China's official second-hand car sales information shows that a second-hand car in Chengdu has a long endurance Model Y, which has been driven for 11,000 kilometers, and is still priced at 413,600 yuan. Even after deducting the original price of the FSD (fully autonomous driving kit) option, the price of this used car is as high as 350,000 yuan.
You know, before the Model Y price adjustment in May last year, the domestic long-endurance Model Y price was only 339,900 yuan, and the adjusted price was 347,900 yuan, which means that the owner may have earned thousands to 10,000 yuan in a year.
Looking at a well-known domestic second-hand car sales website, the model Y (parameter | picture) standard endurance version is mostly priced at more than 290,000 yuan, while the long-endurance version is mostly more than 320,000 yuan (the price of used cars is affected by factors such as configuration and vehicle condition), and some used cars are priced higher than the official historical lowest price of the model.
The price increase of Tesla's second-hand car has a great relationship with its recent domestic price increase.
In January this year, affected by factors such as subsidies decline, Tesla Model Y and Model 3 (parameter | picture) entry-level models have raised prices many times in China, and the current price of Model 3 and Model Y rear-wheel drive models has risen to 265,700 yuan and 301,800 yuan respectively, compared with the lowest price in history of 235,900 yuan and 276,000 yuan, up 12.6% and 9.3% respectively, a fierce rise.
In addition to Tesla's official price increase, the production capacity problem is also another important factor in the current high price of second-hand Tesla.
Usually, Tesla China mainly exports in the first half of each quarter, and will focus on the domestic market in the second half. Most of the delivery quotas from late February to March this year have been booked by users who placed orders around December last year, so users who have placed orders now have to postpone to the next quarter, or even the next quarter.
At present, Tesla's official website shows that the expected delivery time of Model 3 and Model Y models is 10-14 weeks, and some models are 12-16 weeks. This means that orders are placed now, and the delivery time may not be until after June this year. Booking cars in winter and delivering them in summer, such waiting times increase the volume of Model Y used cars, and prices naturally rise.
However, at present, Tesla's situation of inverting the price of second-hand cars in China may be short-term. With the German super factory about to put into mass production, Tesla's pressure on China's exports to Europe will be greatly reduced, when the domestic new car price trend and production capacity will usher in a turnaround, and the price of used cars is also expected to fall.
