Touch Night Talk: SE has indeed found the wealth code

Touching the night talk, every day nonsense and game-related farts, ghost things, new things.

After the success of the role-playing game Traveler of the Wrong Way— perhaps better known as Traveler of the Eight Directions, Square Enix went on to make Traveler of the Wrong Way: Overlord of the Continent and Triangular Strategy. The graphics of these games are in the style of retro pixels and 3D CG, which SE officially calls "HD-2D". HD-2D is a good technology, and frankly, without it, Misguided Traveler would just be an RPG near the average.

In addition to the new game, SE is also actively using this technology to remake old games, including Dragon Quest 3 and Time Warriors in the current planning. When I joked with my friends last year, I always said that I hope to use HD-2D to reproduce the old works of "Pokémon", of course, I am quite satisfied with the current "Pokémon Legend: Arzeus", so I don't mention HD-2D much.

I was fascinated by this promotional video

It's a good idea to remake old games before HD-2D, and the SE side, whether it's Square or Enix, is the old game that's not lacking in history. This is also what we call the "wealth code" in private, and I even think SE herself thinks so. Recently, se had a developer interview live, and Tomomo Asano, one of the producers of "The Wrong Traveler", also said: "The president hopes that we will develop more HD-2D games and remake games. ”

"Triangle Strategy" is not bad from the current demo version, that is, the name of the character and the name of the force are too long to remember

Not only from the perspective of the operator, the president hopes to produce more HD-2D games, and as a player, I think so. Due to the limitations of the times, it is difficult for us to go back to playing the old classic games, which is more evident in RPGs and ACT games. I played Zelda Legends: Ode to Time two days ago, played it for an hour or two, put it down, and didn't pick it up again—I naturally knew it was good, but that's it, our tastes were reshaped in a variety of delicate feels, convenient operations, and simpler, straighter thrills, and back, and a lot of classic games couldn't be played.

Not even "old" games, even if they are not so old, even if it was a game from 10 years ago, it may be a bit difficult to play now. Spanning 3 host generations, not only the picture, but also many systems and ideas, which are not necessarily in line with today's tastes.

"Ocarina of Time" is of course very good, but I lack a good mood and state of mind

Without the HD-2D remake, I probably wouldn't have thought of playing Dragon Quest 3 or Time Warriors, which is true, just as many players only came into contact with Final Fantasy 7 because of Final Fantasy 7: Remastered. A remake is the best and almost only way for new-age players to get in touch with older games. HD-2D is particularly good in this regard, not only with a new system, music, and operation, but also allowing players to experience the previous pixel style in a more refined picture.

In short, in the foreseeable future, SE will use HD-2D to reproduce many of the previous good games, and the "Final Fantasy" and "Dragon Quest" series are estimated to be the focus of the observation area. But speaking of this, I would prefer to play a brand new, HD-2D, refined "Key to Time", I have tried many times to open up this game standing on the video game President's Hill, but due to the aging of my NDS battery, I always can't play for long, once I put it down and can't pick it up, so far I haven't figured out what the story of "Key to Time" tells... Wait, just in case there will be later.

2022 is like a year that has swept away the haze of the past two years for video games, with sunlight shining through clouds onto players' faces, making me look forward to the days ahead for no reason.
