Sponsored by the authoritative Japanese film magazine "Film Shunbao", the Film Shunbao Awards are divided into two major sections: film awards and individual awards, and the "Top Ten Japanese Films of the Year" in the Film Awards is recognized as the most artistically valuable film works produced in Japan that year. The film stars Yu Aoi and Isseisa Takahashi, and is co-written by Kiyoshi Kurosawa and two high apprentices, Ryusuke Hamaguchi and Nohara, who trained while teaching at Tokyo University of the Arts. Originally an SP (television film) shot by Kiyoshi Kurosawa for NHK's BS8K channel, it was later expanded into a theatrical version, and it was also shortlisted for the main competition section of the 2020 Venice Film Festival, and won the Silver Lion Award for Best Director.
