Can an exhibition be a novel? Or can a novel be an exhibition?

Born and living in Shanghai, the writer/translator/critic btr who loves useless things such as novels/movies/contemporary art, he decided to give it a try, he was obsessed with fresh and interesting narratives, in his latest collection of novels "Shanghai Capsule", he built 19 exhibition halls out of thin air, entering from the entrance, in the space where words and pictures are constructed, you can freely watch, imagine, wander, and shake with him...

Novelist Li Zishu commented on BTR: "BTR is always outside the world, he sees, if he does not say, you will always not see." ”

On the afternoon of Saturday, February 26th, BTR invited his friend writer Shen Dacheng and Art World Magazine Editor-in-Chief Lai Fei to be guests of the house to share his new works and discuss various topics such as exhibition and fiction, reality and fiction, and welcome everyone to visit and guide.

This labyrinth exhibition was pre-conceived in BTR's short story Night Labyrinth (included in his latest publication, The Shanghai Capsule). Can a novel be an exhibition? Isn't this a novel? 丨Shanghai Salon

An exhibition can become a novel, creating a fictional situation in real space; a novel can also become an exhibition on paper, weaving fictional components into real life.

Like collecting objects for a vast and complicated museum, Btr watches, imagines, wanders, and always slides lightly and slyly into another space in those moments of epiphany. Art intervenes between man and the world, and the 19 stories are like 19 mirror halls reflected in the virtual reality, and 19 journeys involving the virtual and the real, preserving the wonderful capsules full of myths for the urban life of our time.
