What is ectopic pregnancy?

Ectopic pregnancy, also known as ectopic pregnancy, is a common gynecological emergency in women of childbearing age.

It occurs most often in the fallopian tubes and occasionally in the ovaries, cervix, abdominal cavity, etc. Embryos outside the uterus cannot survive for a long time, and may break through the attached site to a certain extent, causing serious internal organ bleeding and endangering the life of pregnant women.

Menopause, abdominal pain, and vaginal bleeding are three common features of ectopic pregnancy.

But in fact, the clinical manifestations of ectopic pregnancy are ever-changing. Many patients mistake abnormal vaginal bleeding for menstruation, and some people are insensitive to pain, may not even have too obvious symptoms of abdominal pain, and some are detected after shock with heavy bleeding.

After having an ectopic pregnancy, do you still have a chance to have children?

According to case statistics, the chance of re-ectopic pregnancy is about 15% [1], and 85% are still normal intrauterine pregnancies. If there are multiple ectopic pregnancies, you can choose to have your fallopian tubes removed on the affected side or consider IVF.
