On February 19, he walked into the studio of Wang Kai, a gourd painting artist in Raoyang County, Hebei Province, where he was creating a gourd painting with the theme of the Winter Olympics. Since the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics, Wang Kai has combined his gourd paintings with the Winter Olympics to create a series of themed works to carry forward the spirit of the Winter Olympics.
Gourd painting is a traditional craft, through ironing, ironing, engraving and other techniques on the gourd painting, the temperature of the soldering iron reflects the change of color intensity, with a unique artistic style.
According to reports, Wang Kai has been deaf since childhood, likes carving at an early age, and teaches himself gourd painting with great perseverance, and on this basis, integrates plate making and carving techniques to make the works more artistic and ornamental.
