In an ordinary farmhouse in Jiangwan Village, in the corner of the simple room, several rows of gourds of different sizes and various exquisite patterns come into view, which makes the place suddenly have an artistic atmosphere.
Tang Kelin has loved to draw since he was a child, and through copying and learning to paint, he has a certain foundation in painting. 10 years ago, Don Klein, who retired at home, had a whim and planned to burn a painting on a gourd. The gourd painting first wants to have a gourd, and Tang Kelin specially set up a piece of land in front of his own door to plant gourds, and when it is ripe, it is stored and dried.
Using soldering iron ghostwriting, using the white drawing, brushwork, freehand and other techniques of Chinese painting, on the smooth and hard wooden skin of the gourd, the characters, landscapes, flowers, birds, animals, etc. are painted, so that the picture presents a variety of levels and the effect of Chinese painting rendering. The painting cannot be altered, it must be done, and the operation is more difficult. Without a teacher to teach, Don klin was on his own.
