The Legend of the Demon God Hero premiered in Japan on April 15, 1988, with a total of 45 episodes. Demon Heroes 2 premiered in Japan on March 9, 1990, with 46 episodes. Super Demon Heroes premiered in Japan on October 2, 1997, with a total of 51 episodes. There are also three OVA versions, namely "True Demon God Hero Legend Demon God Mountain Compilation", "Demon God Hero Legend Creation Mountain Hero Legend" and "Demon God Hero Legend Eternal Legend".
In Taiwan: "The Legend of the Demon God Hero" and "The Legend of the Demon God Hero 2" (collectively referred to as "The Legend of the Demon God Hero") were premiered by China Television Corporation, from April 8, 1992 to January 19, 1994, and the theme song was filled in by Lin Jiaqing with the original theme song Chinese lyrics and sung by the China Television Children's Choir; it was originally broadcast every Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., and later advanced to 4:30 p.m. every Wednesday.
