China's power battery loading volume in January was 16.2GWh, an increase of 86.9% year-on-year

According to the information released by the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, in January 2022, China's power battery production was 29.7GWh, an increase of 146.2% year-on-year, down 6.2% month-on-month; power battery vehicles were 16.2GWh, an increase of 86.9% year-on-year, down 38.3% month-on-month.

As an important supply link of new energy vehicles, power batteries have a strong connection with the market situation of new energy vehicles. According to the data released by the Association of Passenger Vehicles, the retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 347,000 units in January 2022, an increase of 132.0% year-on-year and a decrease of 27.0% month-on-month.

The material types of China's power batteries are still dominated by ternary materials and lithium iron phosphate. In January 2022, the installed volume of ternary material power batteries was 7.3GWh, an increase of 35.2% year-on-year; the loading volume of lithium iron phosphate was 8.9GWh, an increase of 172.7% year-on-year. Among them, the ternary material power battery and lithium iron phosphate power battery in the Ningde era were 4.17GWh and 3.96GWh in the Chinese market, respectively, with a market share of 57.17% and 44.60% respectively, and the market share was the first.

From the perspective of the market concentration of power battery loading, the first Ningde era in January had an installed capacity of 8.13GWh, accounting for 50.24%; the second-place BYD power battery loading volume was 3.39GWh, accounting for 20.93%; the third-place China New China New Air's power battery loading volume was 1.20GWh, accounting for 7.40% of the market.

According to the data of China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, as of January 2022, a total of 25 power battery companies in China's new energy vehicle market have achieved car loading, and the loading volume of the top 3, top 5 and top 10 companies accounted for 78.6%, 87.1% and 94.8% of the total installed vehicle volume, respectively.
