Gong Xian's "December Order Landscape Album"
This set of "December Ling Landscape Album" shows the patchwork of small scenes in the field, trees, mountains and stones and houses, the painter uses the plane composition to divide the foreground, the middle scene, the long view of the three levels, and then uses the line formed by the growth direction of the bush, the dot formed by the hut and the boat, the large area of the mountain stone and the water bank to organize the picture relationship, the natural object into abstract points, lines, and surfaces to combine the picture to make the picture rich and rhythmic.
Gong Xian (1618-1689), also known as Yi Xian, was a famous painter of the late Ming and early Qing dynasties and one of the eight great masters of Jinling. The unique feature of Gong Xian's landscape paintings is that only ink black, white and gray are used to develop a strange spatial layout.
