Beijing, February 15 (Reporter Sun Zifa) "Dianzan 2021 Science Popularization China" Unveiling Ceremony was held through television media on the evening of the 14th, and the Chinese space station and the first Mars exploration were selected as the top ten science popularization events in 2021. Shenzhou 13 flight crew astronauts Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu won the "highest honor of science popularization in China".

The specific contents of the top ten science popularization events in 2021 (in no particular order) are as follows:

Event 1: China's vaccine research and development and vaccination work has been carried out in an all-round and smooth manner. The inactivated COVID-19 vaccine independently developed by Sinopharm Group Beijing Institute of Biological Products and Beijing Kexing Zhongwei has been officially included in the WHO emergency use list, and as of December 31, 2021, a total of 2,835.332 million doses of the new crown virus vaccine have been reported nationwide.

Event 2. The State Council issued the Outline of the Action Plan for the Scientific Quality of the Whole People (2021-2035), which outlines a new blueprint for the construction of scientific quality in the next 15 years.

Incident 3. Tiangong opened a popular science class, setting off a wave of popularization of science in the aerospace industry of the whole people. On December 9, 2021, Shenzhou 13 astronauts Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu gave space lectures on the China Space Station. This activity adopts the interactive method of heaven and earth, and sets up a ground main classroom in the China Science and Technology Museum, which is a major practice with the largest coverage of China's science education activities and the largest number of participating public.

Event 4. A large number of scientific and technological applications have helped Sanxingdui to make new archaeological discoveries. The archaeology of the Sanxingdui site has made significant progress, and this archaeological excavation and protection has made full use of modern scientific and technological means to achieve the close integration of the whole process of archaeological excavation, scientific and technological archaeology and cultural relics protection.

Event 5. The spirit of Chinese scientists is incorporated into the spiritual genealogy of Chinese communists. On the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Party Central Committee released the first batch of Chinese Communist Spiritual Genealogy, and the spirit of Chinese scientists was selected among them.

Event 6:The fifteenth Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity was held in China. The theme of the conference is "Ecological Civilization: Building a Community of Life on Earth", which comprehensively summarizes the experience of the international community in biodiversity conservation. At the meeting, the northward journey and return journey of yunnan elephants was mentioned, indicating that China's ecological civilization construction has achieved remarkable results.

Event 7: China begins a new era of building the Tiangong space station. The Long March 5B Yao-2 carrier rocket successfully sent the space station Tianhe core module into the predetermined orbit, marking the full launch of the assembly and construction of China's space station in orbit, and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent verification of key technologies and the smooth implementation of the assembly and construction of the space station.

Event 8: China's first Mars exploration mission was a complete success. The successful landing of "Tianwen-1" in the pre-selected landing area of the southern utopian plain of Mars not only left a Chinese imprint on Mars for the first time, but also successfully achieved the three major goals of Mars orbit, landing and inspection for the first time in the history of world spaceflight, and achieved another milestone in the development of China's aerospace industry.

Incident 10.The public spontaneously paid tribute to the late scientists such as Yuan Longping and Wu Mengchao. On May 22, 2021, Academician Yuan Longping, the "Father of Hybrid Rice", passed away, and on the same day, Academician Wu Mengchao, the "Father of Hepatobiliary Surgery in China", passed away. The public spontaneously mourned and commemorated, setting off a wave of promoting the spirit of scientists in the whole society.

Fu Zhizhou is a forestry local technician in Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Halmodun Town, Jing County.

Nyima Tsering is the deputy director of the Agricultural Technology Extension Station in Lhasa, Tibet Autonomous Region.

Kuang Tingyun is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a researcher at the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a pioneer in the field of photosynthetic membrane protein research in China.
