After reading so many poems by Cangyang Gyatso, I always felt that he was an amorous and talented monk who wrote those poems that touched people's hearts. However, a closer look found that some of these poems are forgeries, and the editor takes you to see what is going on.

"See or Don't See"
You see, or you don't see me
I'm there, not sad or happy
You read, or you don't read me
Love is there, not coming and going
You love, or you don't love me
Love is there, not increasing or decreasing
You follow, or you don't follow me
My hand is in your hand, and I will not give up
Come into my arms
Or, let me dwell in your heart
Silently in love
Silence rejoices
Many people have known Cangyang Gyatso from this song "See or Not See", but the truth is that it was not written by him at all, but the middle collection of the "Suspected Wind Moon" written by the female poet Tashi Ram Dodo in May 2007, originally titled "The Silence of Banza Guru Khyentama" (Ban zagul Khyubma is a transliteration of the Tibetan word "Lotus Master")
The first misinformation was reprinted by the "Reader" magazine that I loved to read before, and I thought that this poem was good, and I reprinted it, and signed the name of Cangyang Gyatso, the original author angrily fought a lawsuit, and the result was won, and "Reader" apologized.
Unfortunately, it is easy to spread rumors and difficult to dispel rumors!

"That Day"
On that day, I closed my eyes in the incense mist of the temple,
Hear the mantra in your praises;
That January, I shook all the prayer tubes,
Not for excess, just for touching your fingertips;
That year, I prostrated my head and crawled on the mountain road,
Not for the sake of seeing, but for the warmth of yours;
In that life, I turned mountains and rivers to stupas,
Not for the afterlife, but for meeting you on the way.

As soon as this poem is read, the monks reciting the sutra in front of the Potala Palace appear in front of them, which may be the earliest impression of Tibet for many people, but the author is not Cangyang Gyatso.
It is the lyrics of "Believers" from singer Zhu Zheqin's 1997 album Yangjinma. The lyricist is the famous musician He Xuntian, because there is another song in the "YangJinma" album that is composed of seven Cangyang Gyatso poems, "The Sixth Da Lazy Cangyang Gyatso Love Song", careless listeners will inevitably confuse the two.
The God-assisted Reader magazine came, and in the 20th issue of 2007, the lyrics were reprinted without verification, resulting in a wider misinformation.

The Ten Commandments
The first is better not to see each other, so that you can not fall in love.
The second is better not to know each other, so that you can not miss each other.
The third is better not to accompany each other, so that you can not owe each other.
Fourth, it is better not to pity each other, so that we can not remember each other.
Fifth, it is better not to love each other, so that you can not abandon each other.
Sixth, it is better not to be relative, so that they can not meet.
The seventh is better not to be mistaken, so that it can not be negative.
The eighth is better not to be allowed, so that there is no continuum.
The ninth is better not to be attached to each other, so that they can not snuggle with each other.
It is better not to meet tenth, so that they can not meet.
But when they have seen each other, they know each other, and when they see each other, they are not seen.
Ender and Jun broke with each other, and did not teach life and death to think of each other.
The famous "Ten Commandments Poem" was once in love but could not keep each other, and finally forgot about each other in the rivers and lakes, that kind of "if life is only like the first sight, what autumn wind and sorrow painting fan." "The mood, the best interpretation, unfortunately, this is not all written by Cangyang Gyatso.
The beginning and end of the poem are indeed in different translations of Cangyang Gyatso's love songs.
But when they have seen each other, they know each other, and when they see each other, they are not seen. Ender and Jun broke with each other, and did not teach life and death to think of each other. It was translated by Zeng Xuan.

There is another version of the translation: the best is not seen at all, and it is not to be confused; if it is not familiar, it will not be so upside down.
Writer Tong Hua quoted it in "Step by Step", and later some fans continued to write the third and fourth sentences with itchy hands, and finally made up ten sentences, resulting in the length of the whole poem. Feng Xiaogang filmed "Non-sincere Do Not Disturb 2", and the ending song "Best Not to Meet" completely spread the poem.

It's been years
You have been living in seclusion in my wounds
I let go of heaven and earth
But never let go of you

Once upon a time, did you also use this poem to express your longing for someone? The truth is always cold, and unknown people have written this illogical and perverse poem, which is regarded by everyone as the handwriting of Cangyang Gyatso.
"I have put down the world but never let go of you" and "in addition to life and death which thing is not idle" there are logical bugs, inconsistencies, "you" is not life and death, then "you" should also be idle, why can't you put it down, it doesn't make sense.

If there really is an afterlife
I want to be a human being for the rest of my life
Be only one of all sentient beings
Even if it is a lifetime of poverty and hardship
Wander the world
As long as you can love and hate songs and cry
As long as you can do what you want
This poem, the person who wrote this poem is also too careless, at least should understand the Tibetan living Buddha culture.
Cangyang Gyatso, as the sixth Dalai Lama, himself is the reincarnation of the living Buddha, and the reincarnation system of the living Buddha is an important feature of Tibetan religion, which is based on the theory of the reincarnation of the soul to solve the problem of the succession of religious leaders, and the living Buddha is the honorific title of Tibetans for those who practice very high and can be reincarnated according to their own wishes.

As we all know, Cangyang Gyatso is a Tibetan, he speaks Tibetan, the poems he writes are also in Tibetan, and all the poems we read today are translated by Han scholars.
In other words, these poems have added the translator's own ideas, and even some poems have been mistranslated without regard to cangyang Gyatso's original intention, among which the modern translator Zeng Xuan cannot be discussed.

Zeng Xuan was born in the late Qing Dynasty scholarly family, and was admitted to the Chinese Department of Peking University in the early years of the Republic of China, where he studied under the great talent Huang Kan, although his Chinese was no problem, but he did not know Tibetan.
Therefore, when translating, he could not understand Cangyang Gyatso's original work at all, so he took the version translated by the Tibetan scholar and linguist Yu Daoquan and polished it.
Because there are many scholars who have translated Cangyang Gyatso before and after, each version will be slightly different, and we can see how the translators translate the same poem differently.
The most widely circulated "time is safe and complete, and it is not as good as it should be." It was translated by Zeng Xuan.
"Live up to the promise of the Qing Dynasty"

The Tibetan scholar Yu Daoquan is a literal translation, which has less charm but more taste of Tibetan folk songs.

Cangyang Gyatso's short life is simply a myth. The reincarnation of the living Buddha made him completely different from ordinary children from the day he was born, and later, as a monk who should jump out of the red dust, falling in love with the girl in the world made him more humane.
Then he left many poems, and then let the world worship him as a love monk, and as long as he talks about love in the future, he will always have a place. But people put so many masks on him, but did anyone ask him if he would like to?
