During the Spring Festival, the outer port customs customs clearance of automobile exports is uninterrupted

Recently, after passing through the inspection of the outer port of Shanghai Customs, 517 MG cars boarded the Ro-Ro ship "Wisteria Elite" from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Haitong Wharf and set sail overseas. This is already the 11th batch of overseas domestic automobiles inspected by the customs of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port Area since entering 2022, and the export of automobiles at Shanghai Port continues to continue the rapid growth trend since last year.

Waigaoqiao Port is the largest automobile import and export port in China, and Haitong Wharf is responsible for more than 90% of Shanghai's automobile export tasks. In recent years, with the popularity of domestic automobile overseas markets, the number of cars "boarding ships and going to sea" from Haitong Wharf has risen sharply. According to statistics, since the beginning of this year, the number of cars exported from Haitong Wharf across the country has reached more than 88,000, a net increase of more than 33,000 vehicles over the same period of the previous year, an increase of 60% year-on-year.

Behind this eye-catching data, it is inseparable from the silent efforts of customs personnel. In order to help domestic vehicles quickly clear customs and accelerate the seizure of the international market, the Outer Port Customs strengthens communication and contact with car companies and Haitong Wharf, connects enterprises throughout the process to understand the requirements of ship routes, and scientifically allocates customs clearance service resources in advance at the joint wharf; coordinates to optimize the setting of operating areas, increases the frequency of site mergers, and alleviates the logistics pressure brought about by peak periods. At the same time, in order to cope with the "temporary order", "weekend single" and "urgent order", the Outer Port Customs launched a 24-hour service mechanism, sent more personnel to the port to work overtime, opened a green channel for inspection, and ensured zero delay in customs clearance for automobile exports.

The all-weather support of the customs has provided a guarantee for the continuous improvement of automobile exports in Shanghai. According to statistics, in 2021, Shanghai exported 484,000 vehicles, with an export volume of 57.01 billion yuan, both of which hit a record high, an increase of 136% and 206% respectively year-on-year.

Chen Jia, chief of the Ninth Section of the Outer Port Customs Inspection Section, said: "This is the last batch of domestic cars exported from the port area before the Spring Festival. With the Spring Festival approaching, we communicated with the enterprises in advance, formulated a careful holiday export customs clearance plan, and arranged customs officers to be on duty to ensure that the export of automobiles was uninterrupted. ”
