On February 10, local time, the United States market research company J.D. In the "Durability Quality Survey 2022" released by Power, Kia ranked first (145 points), Hyundai ranked third (148 points), Genesis ranked fourth (155 points), and luxury brands ranked first), all of which ranked first, achieving the best results ever.

Kia ranked first among the overall brands and won the "Best Brand Award". This is the first time that the average brand has surpassed a luxury brand, ranking first in the durability quality survey alone. Hyundai came in third (up four places from last year) and Dennises overtook Lexus as the first luxury brand and fourth of all brands. Hyundai Motor Group's average score (147 points) also surpassed Toyota (158 points) and General Motors (172 points) to take the first place.

Note: Shengda and Sonata won the Best Quality Award

In terms of models, Hyundai Shengda topped the list in the mid-size SUV category, the Sonata was a mid-size sedan, and Kia Sorento topped the list in the mid-size SUV category and won the "Best Quality Award". Next, Hyundai Elantra, Tucson, Veloster, Kia Sportage, Soul, K5 won the "Quality Excellence Award" in each category. Hyundai Motor Group won awards in 11 categories, including brand and complete vehicle, breaking the record for the most awarded in history.

The Durability Quality Survey conducted by J.D. Power examined the durability quality satisfaction of 184 projects. This is a method of counting the number of complaints per 100 vehicles surveyed, for customers 3 years after purchasing the vehicle. The lower the score, the higher the quality satisfaction. The 2022 Durability Quality Survey conducted 29,487 vehicles from 32 brands, 139 models sold in the United States between July 2018 and February 2019.

In this year's durable goods quality survey, new items have been added to truly reflect consumer complaints. The number of projects related to driver assistance systems, major EV features and connectivity has been added to the existing eight categories, from 177 to 184. Due to the addition of new projects, the overall brand durability quality index industry average increased from 121 points to 192 points.
