Bethesda's sci-fi role-playing game Star Domain will be released on November 11 this year, adding xbox game pass on its first day of release. For the new game, Microsoft Games CEO Phil Spencer said that his goal is to make Star Domain the most player-played game ever in Bethesda's umbrella.
In the recently released data, Xbox's Halo Unlimited and Forza Horizon 5 have more than 20 million and 18 million players, respectively, reaching the highest record in their series. This huge number of players is undoubtedly due to the XGP subscription service, which currently has more than 25 million subscribers.
Phil Spencer recently said in an interview with foreign media Axios reporter Stephen Totilo:
I'm very happy to see the player count for Forza Horizon 5 and Halo, and I'm happy to see that more players have played Alitalia 2 than the original Al-Aero.
When Todd Howard [Star Domain Game Director] and I talked about Star Domain as a game, my thought was how do we make sure it's the most player-driven game he's ever made. As a platform, we have to put a lot of effort into this. Game quality comes first, there's no doubt about that.
Considering that Bethesda's Elder Scrolls and Fallout series also have a large player base on the PlayStation platform, and Star Domain will be a challenge to surpass its "predecessors" in terms of player numbers when it only lands on the Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms.
For Activision Blizzard's games, Phil Spencer also hopes that more players will reach them: "Yes, compared to now, I hope that more players will play World of Warcraft, the Call of Duty series and Candy Legends in the next 5 years. Phil Spencer has said after acquiring Activision Blizzard that he will bring as many Activision Blizzard games to the XGP subscription service as much as possible.
