Will Shen, the chief mission designer of Starry Sky, revealed that the game has a faction system, and players can freely choose to join some factions, saying: "An important choice is which part of the game world I will participate in." There are three main factions in Starry Sky, the United Colonies represent the future of an idealized space republic, and the Freestar Collective represents western space fantasies, keen on colonizing and pioneering. There is also Ryujin Industries, a consortium of industrial companies. ”
Will Shen considers Dragon Industries to be "one of the best off-to-end factions of all factions" and opts in to this faction, where players will perform a series of missions to prove their worth. In addition to these three main factions, there is the Crimson Fleet, a space pirate organization that players who want to do something evil in Starry Sky can choose to join.
All four factions sound appealing, and players will be able to complete different types of missions. But there's a more interesting potential route for players to choose from, perhaps joining the Crimson Fleet and cooperating with other benevolent factions at the same time, which feels like playing Infernal Affairs?
