Bandai Namco, publisher of the Elden Ring, promised that after the introduction of "necessary security measures," the game's online servers would be restored at launch.
The news came when the Dark Souls series' PC online servers exploded with remote execution vulnerabilities, with long and sustained downtime.
This implies that The Ring of Eldon will suffer the same vulnerability, and Bandai Namco has until now been silent about whether the latest version of the action game will be released safely in time.
"Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware are very aware of the technical difficulties players face in the Dark Souls series of games on PC," the publisher said in a statement released this afternoon.
"We would like to thank the entire Dark Souls community and those players who contacted us directly to express their concerns and provide solutions. Thank you guys, we've identified the cause and are working to fix it. "
