The new car is based on the Toyota pure electric vehicle platform e-TNGA platform, and the Lexus RZ can also be regarded as the Lexus version of "Toyota bZ4X", because they share a three-electric system and platform architecture, as long as you know toyota bZ4X enough, you can have a more comprehensive understanding of the Lexus RZ.

In terms of exterior design, the front face of the Lexus RZ adopts the iconic enclosed front grille design of the electric car, and its overall silhouette is very similar to the Lexus RX. I personally don't like this closed front grille very much, it looks too monotonous, but it is better to design some shapes, such as a closed "spindle" middle net, which can not only meet the Lexus family front grille design, but also reduce wind resistance and save energy consumption. The exterior mirrors of the Lexus RZ have also been blackened, and combined with the blackened front and rear wheels and the blackened lower grille, it looks like a performance car. Its side design is OK, but the front face design is too monotonous.
The Lexus RZ was blackened between the C and D pillars, creating the visual effect of a suspended roof, and its "slipback" was also large, more like a crossover SUV. Through the official map, its distance from the ground is not high, the proximity angle is similar to the car, and the departure angle is OK, which shows that its ability to pass is average. In terms of size, Lexus did not publish its specific data, but considering that it is a Lexus version of "Toyota bZ4X", for reference, the length, width and height of Toyota bZ4X are 4690 * 1860 * 1650mm, the wheelbase is 2850mm, and it is expected that the Lexus RZ will maintain a similar size design.
In the rear part, Lexus RZ adopts a through-type taillight design, which widens the lateral visual effect of the rear, and its roof is equipped with a spoiler, and then with the trunk ducktail spoiler, a double spoiler design is formed, which can better comb the air volume, reduce the wind resistance, and make the rear of the car appear more dynamic. It is worth mentioning that the current electric car likes to use hidden door handles to enhance the sense of technology, and Lexus RZ has not been adopted, you can not say that this is its advantages or disadvantages, for hidden door handles, some people like, some people do not like, it depends on how you look at it.
The battery pack of the e-TNGA platform will be tiled on the chassis, and the battery pack periphery will be cross-designed to strengthen the structural framework and improve the safety of the battery pack. Lexus stated that the 10-year battery capacity of RZ's battery pack is only attenuated by 10%, and in turn, its battery pack still has a maximum battery capacity of 90% after 10 years of use, which is a big "selling point" for users who pay attention to "real mileage".
The powertrain of the Lexus RZ is roughly the same as that of the Toyota bZ4X, which will provide a 215-horsepower electric motor and use a battery pack with a capacity of 72.8kWh for a range of 500km under WLC conditions. It is expected that its 0-100km/h acceleration time will be 8 seconds away, obviously it is not a performance-oriented electric SUV, and the 500km range is not advantageous today, and now many electric vehicles can already achieve a cruising range of more than 800km.
