One of League of Legends' most influential and interesting designers, the familiar three-ring designer August "Riot August" Browning, is about to enter a new character who will have an even greater impact on the League of Legends game landscape.
August has been the creator of the Hero Team for the past few years, and he has designed many well-known heroes, such as Jinx, Wei, Ike, Ember and, more recently, Zeli, and August occasionally moves to other teams to make League of Legends better. On Feb. 9, August announced on his personal Twitter that he is now the chief hero designer of League of Legends. He said he learned a lot about game design in a post by Morello, former chief designer of League of Legends in college, which inspired him to work in game design. Nine years later, August is in the same position, and he hopes he can play the same positive role.
League of Legends has a lot of designers, but not every designer is keen to communicate with players, August is an exception, he often broadcasts live on the Tucci platform, and League of Legends is played to the diamond level.
Every time a new hero in charge of him is launched, or the hero he is responsible for makes a major change, August will play the test suit for the first time to show everyone his game results. August is still very responsible for his work, he recently designed both Zeli of League of Legends and Nirvana of Valorant, which is the first hero cross-border linkage between the two IPs of Fist Games. Both heroes use electricity and have a Filipino feel, as well as the same Filipino voice actors. Although there is no relationship between the two heroes, their similar themes further connect the two works of the fist game.
In addition to this, August also announced another personnel move for League of Legends, where Yumi and Lilia's designer Maxw3ll has been promoted to design manager for the Hero team. In fact, this is the trend of the times, Fist Games in recent years there are many League of Legends senior designers transferred to other projects, especially the League of Legends MMO project, so they will promote some younger members.
The next new hero of League of Legends, Renata, August is not involved, but the next new hero, the Wild Hero from the Void, is part of August's design credit. Maxw3ll should also be designing a new hero that has not yet been announced, which we will confirm in the subsequent hero blueprint.
