Nowadays, there are many prosperous business circles like Xujiahui in Shanghai, and in such a fiercely competitive Shuluo field in such an urban area, the trump card of Xujiahui has become more and more inadequate.
Compared with other districts and counties in Shanghai except Huangpu and Hongkou, Xuhui District has its own unique advantages, that is, it can effectively link with the Pudong New Area opposite along the Huangpu River.
Inland jurisdictions such as Jing'an, Putuo and Changning do not have the advantage of relying on the river, while the yangpu and Minhang jurisdictions along the river, whether in Pudong or Puxi, are too industrial.

But to his surprise, the reason why the scenery here is quiet is because the Dragon Palace of the Dragon King of Guangze is nearby. The Dragon King was very unhappy with the outsider's camp in front of his house, so he set off a storm to drive him away, who knew that the Kang monk would still calmly cross his legs to worship the Buddha even if the hut collapsed.
When the Dragon King saw that this man was extraordinary, he observed and listened nearby, and the Buddha's will chanted by the Kang monks inspired the Dragon King, so he stepped forward and promised that he could give the Dragon Palace to the Kang Monks to build the FanYu and return to live in the East Sea himself. The Kang monks accepted the Dragon King's kindness and converted the Dragon Palace into Longhua Temple.
During the Huangchao Rebellion in the Tang Dynasty, Longhua Temple was destroyed in war and rebuilt in the third year of the Taiping Revival of the Northern Song Dynasty (978). Most of the current Longhua Temple halls are built during the same light period of the Qing Dynasty, the temple maintains the Song Dynasty Galan pattern, and the pagoda in the southwest direction of the courtyard still maintains the style rebuilt during the Taiping Revival period of the Northern Song Dynasty, and in 1954, a comprehensive overhaul was carried out according to the style of the Song Pagoda.
Longhua Town is one of the earliest areas in China's modern industrial development, and the "Longhua Arsenal", a product of the late Qing Dynasty Foreign Affairs Movement, and some related military and political institutions have also settled here, and became the command center of the Shanghai Songhu War of Resistance during the Republic of China period.
There are many execution sites near the location of the Songhu Protectorate of the Warlord songhu in the north of Longhua and the Songhu garrison headquarters of the Kuomintang, and there is a line in the large-scale epic drama "Blood Wo Longhua": "There is a pagoda that is not tall nor short, there is a peach blossom that falls and opens, and there are many, many of the best and best people who fall in the pool of blood in the long night and never get up again..."
In that bloody era, countless revolutionary pioneers sacrificed their lives and died generously in the pursuit of truth and light, and the Longhua area became the darkest place in the old Shanghai in the early 20th century.
In 1937, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out in full swing, and the Songhu Garrison Headquarters was abolished as the Kuomintang troops withdrew westward. After the fall of the Longhua region, the Japanese Kou continued this darkness and set up a Longhua concentration camp to imprison Western expatriates.
In December 1983, the wife of martyr Zhao Shiyan sent a letter to Beijing proposing the construction of a martyrs' cemetery in Longhua. Since then, the Longhua Martyrs Cemetery, the largest martyrs' cemetery in Shanghai, together with the Longhua Ancient Temple, has formed a Longhua tourist area integrating folk culture, Buddhist culture and revolutionary traditional culture.
Longhua Town was originally a heavy industrial zone in the suburbs of Shanghai, where there are Longhua Machinery Factory, Shanghai Cement Factory, Radio Factory, Aircraft Manufacturing Plant, etc. With the industrial adjustment and urban function transformation of Shanghai at the end of the 20th century, many factories in Longhua area are not as efficient as before, and the steel and coal yards and railways are no longer bustling.
