My name is Yao Miaorong, I am 58 years old and I am from Lishu County, Siping City, Jilin Province. I came to look for my deceased father, Yao Fuxiang, and to find his three comrades-in-arms.
Before, I only knew that my father had been a soldier, and when I was a child, my father had a "treasure chest" that was usually locked and did not let the children move.

As the years passed, we grew older and our parents grew older. After my mother died, I took my father to live with me, thinking that life would pass so plainly. But when Dad was 82 years old, he had throat cancer.
One day, my father took my hand and told me his wish, and he especially wanted to see his comrades in that photo.

Dad was born in Jilin in 1933. In October 1950, Dad, as one of the first recruits to enter Korea, trained in Dandong for two months and then entered Korea with a large army.
At that time, Dad and four comrades-in-arms Yang Shihua, Hu Shichang, An Yuhe, and Sun Jiming were transferred to the heavy machine gun company on the front line.
In this way, Yang Shihua and An Yuhe were responsible for stabilizing the machine gun, Dad was the shooter, Hu Shichang was responsible for loading the bullets, Sun Jiming came to cover, and the five of them cooperated very tacitly.
Because my father was young, many times it was my comrades who took care of him. For example, teach my father how to eat fried noodles and how to hide from enemy planes.
One day, it was AnYu and the guards' turn, and those days were the time when enemy planes were frequently active. He spotted an enemy plane bombing him, and at this time he told his comrades to hurry into the cave, where he himself was at the mouth. Suddenly, the enemy plane strafed, and An Yuhe was hit by the enemy plane and died heroically.
Watching the sacrifice of his comrades-in-arms, dad picked up the heavy machine gun, Yang Shihua and Sun Jiming raised the machine gun, Hu Shichang struggled to open the magazine and pressed the bullet into the chamber, my dad stood next to the trigger of the machine gun, watching the plane flying.
A little lower! A little lower! A little closer! A little closer!
The eyes of the four men were fixed on the plane. "Fight!" At the sound of an order, Dad finished all the bullets at once, and when the plane flew over their heads, it was already emitting black smoke and falling precariously.
This time, they made a "collective second class merit."

In March 1955, Dad and three comrades hugged each other and got on a train and went to different places. I've never seen this again.
When I learned of my father's wish, I immediately began to search, but I never heard from him.
In 2020, the 87-year-old dad left with an unfinished wish, and when dad was dying, I promised him that no matter what, he would find his comrade-in-arms and would not give up.
I want to find my father's three comrades-in-arms and tell them that my father has never forgotten the years he spent with them, and as a descendant, I want to tell them that you are all heroes.
