Le Coq Garden is located on the first floor of the URBN Boutique Hotel in Shanghai's Jing'an district, where the restaurant is located surrounded by gardens, and the climbing tigers that occupy the entire hotel building wall strengthen the greenery of the entire garden. The design of the restaurant tries to permeate this characteristic of the venue into the hotel's use function, finding a balance between the urban lifestyle and the natural environment.

In order to cope with the complex functional requirements, we adopt a three-stage stepped spatial layout in the design of the spatial layout; the illuminated bar operation area with convertible functions is placed in the middle of the outdoor garden and the indoor dining area, and with the help of the façade design that can be fully opened, the boundary lines between the indoor and the inside and outside are blurred to the maximum and seamlessly connected.

The different functional operating surfaces of the circular bar, with the different cooperation and transformation of natural light and indoor light, provide the overall restaurant with a functional change from breakfast buffet to late-night cocktail party, and respond to the production and service of different use scenarios; the open kitchen area and the bar area are placed separately, where the overall wine glass and the display shelf of the utensils are set up, which hides the kitchen in the rear, weakens the boundary of the kitchen at the same time, and also weakens its vacant state during the no-dining period; the overall space takes the bar as the central axis. It gradually rises in both outdoor and indoor directions, presenting the best internal and external communication effect in the line of sight of space, and at the same time hopes that the bar, which is the most ornamental and atmospheric improvement at all times of the day, will become the visual core of its space.

In the thinking and introduction of the design language, in order to respect the operating philosophy of UNBN Hotel and the style characteristics of the Lecoq restaurant brand. "Borrowing" is the design method we want to try in the project. Borrow the skin of the existing protected building covered with greenery as a backdrop for the entrance to the fully open restaurant. Borrow the original century-old trees of the courtyard to form a natural umbrella for the garden. Borrowing the material and function of the original bamboo frame, through the refinement, scattering, and reconstruction of the method combined with the same type of metal strip, so that its natural overlap extends to every important corner of the dining area, forming the core main visual area inside the dining area. Through the material characteristics of mirror, glass and hand-tapped mirror stainless steel with different gray levels and colors, borrowing greenery, borrowing shape, borrowing "freedom" scattered in the space of circular variable atmosphere lights of different sizes, naturally changing the dining environment of the restaurant, so that guests can capture different visual experiences at different times and different space positions.
