This is a newly built splendid embroidery hall in the Chinese National Garden, which will officially welcome guests at this year's Peony Cultural Festival. As the city's first professional large-scale intelligent temperature-controlled peony flower shed, fairview hall covers an area of 2,000 square meters, planting more than 1,500 plants of more than 20 varieties of fine peonies at home and abroad.
"After the Fairview Pavilion is put into use, the peony in the museum can extend the flowering period by about 15 days compared with the Peony in Daejeon." Yuan Meili, deputy director of the China National Garden Management Office, said that the key to the extension of the flowering period lies in the low temperature control technology of the Fairview Pavilion, and the installation of materials and refrigeration equipment such as translucent cotton, shade net, sun panels can ensure that the museum has sufficient natural light and relatively low temperature.
Yuan Meili introduced that peony from the bud germination to the flower withering, phenology is divided into germination period, bud stage, bud stage, small wind chime period... There are 12 stages such as the initial opening period, the blooming period, and the flowering period. The intelligent temperature control system of the Fairview Pavilion can make the phenology of the peonies in the museum always be one to two stages later than that outside the museum. For example, after a while, the field peonies in the park may enter the small wind chime period, but through scientific temperature control, the peonies in the Fairview Pavilion may have just entered the budding period.
Near the Erqiao Pavilion, there is a group of newly built shade shelters. According to the staff, in order to effectively regulate the peony flowering period, the park also put on a "hat" for more than 8,000 datian peonies, and built and rebuilt more than 8,500 square meters of shade shelters.
Surrounded by the sea of flowers, you can appreciate the unique charm of peonies. Beside the national flower platform, the wooden boardwalk stretches out in the peony bush, and walking on it during the blooming season is like entering the ocean of peonies. The person in charge of China National Garden said that the park continues to accelerate the upgrading of infrastructure, optimize the three-level road network, and strive to create an immersive tourism flower viewing route. Take the upcoming Fairview Pavilion, for example, the planned tour runs through the peony bushes, including the flower viewing platform, the main road, and the branch road, which can maximize the stay time of tourists.
During the interview, the reporter also saw the purple spotted peony "green butterfly", "brown spot snow" and "Baizhang ice" newly imported from Gansu in the park. According to the staff, these purple-spotted peonies belong to the late-opening varieties, in recent years, the park has continuously optimized the layout of early, middle and late-opening peony varieties, at present, the park has planted more than 1,000 varieties of more than 600,000 plants, of which about 120,000 early-opening peonies, about 300,000 middle-opening peonies, and about 180,000 late-opening peonies, to ensure that tourists can enjoy the national color and fragrance during the entire peony cultural festival.
In order to welcome the arrival of the 40th China Luoyang Peony Cultural Festival, China National Garden is still planning a series of activities such as the Flower Dynasty Festival and the Hanfu Festival to create an immersive flower viewing experience.
