In Xinjiang in spring, the stamens are new and full of vitality. From April 18th to 24th, the literary and artistic team composed of nearly 20 performers and composers of the China Symphony Orchestra successively visited the Xinjiang Academy of Arts and the Wujiaqu City and Shihezi City of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps to carry out activities such as talent training, artistic exchanges and sending culture to the grassroots level.

"One-to-one" imparting experience

"When processing this melody, slow down the bow a little bit and it feels like a small feather or leaf falling. ”

"This music can be imagined as a girl in the front and a boy in the back, and they are having a conversation with each other. ”

"It doesn't matter if you are an introvert or an Extrovert in life, you have to become an E person when you go on stage, and do your best to tell the world about the music you play. ”

……

On April 19, it was almost noon, and the seven rehearsal halls of the School of Music of Xinjiang University of the Arts were still full of people, and several teachers were guiding the students hand in hand, stopping from time to time to explain. The students took their instruments to the stage one by one, whether they played on stage or listened to the audience, everyone held their breath and did not want to miss a single detail. The rigorous, funny, and individualistic language of the teachers immersed everyone in it and benefited a lot.

This is an expert class of "Chamber Music and Band Fragment Training" carried out by the Xinjiang Chamber Music Art Seminar and Senior Performance Talent Seminar. The teachers are all from the China Symphony Orchestra, including violin, cello, viola, flute, oboe, clarinet and many other voice players. The workshop was hosted by the China Symphony Orchestra and Xinjiang University of the Arts, and included expert classes, performance observations, and special lectures.

"Last year, the China Symphony Orchestra signed an agreement with the Xinjiang University of the Arts to cooperate in music performance, music creation and talent training. Lei Jiayan, dean of the School of Music of Xinjiang University of the Arts, introduced.

"I heard that there was an expert class, and the students rushed to sign up. This time, I played a fragment of the German composer Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, and the teacher not only pointed out some problems in my technique, but also taught us to have a 'sense of audience' when performing, which inspired me very much. Warisjan Rehemanjiang, a fourth-year violin student at the School of Music of Xinjiang University of the Arts, said.

After instructing five students, Yao Liang, deputy principal orchestra of the China Symphony Orchestra and violinist, said that the students of Xinjiang University of the Arts have solid basic skills, and may lack stage experience, especially the opportunity to cooperate with the band and orchestra, so "I mainly pass on to them the experience of practicing and performing for many years, hoping to help them in their learning."

Collaborative innovation of the school group

In addition to the expert class on music performance, the China Symphony Orchestra also brought a special lecture, delivered by the well-known composer Yang Fan, sharing his "creative code" for many popular dance dramas in recent years, such as "The Eternal Wave", "Heavenly Road", "Five Stars Out of the East" and "Wing Chun".

"In music, literariness is very important. When I write music for different dance dramas, the first step is to find the core literary imagery. "When I was a student, my teacher taught us that it was best to go to places where there were no roads or traffic, so that we could be exposed to the original music. Going deep into the grassroots and going deep into life is always the source of our creation. ”...... Yang Fan's insights and perceptions on music creation triggered the thinking of teachers and students of Xinjiang Academy of Arts——

Which is more important, a good melody or superb technology? How to innovate music in a large number of creations? How to enhance the color of music? How can the Western and Eastern music systems be better integrated? How to create excellent chamber music works with Xinjiang style? After the lecture, everyone took the initiative to ask questions and had a warm exchange with Yang Fan.

"This kind of exchange is also a learning experience for me. Yang Fan said that this time at the Xinjiang Academy of Arts, he enjoyed the 12 muqam fragment "Jibiat Muqam", the plucked solo "Ai Jiemu", the tambourine solo "Harvest", the national instrument legato "Kunlun Spring" and the dance "Maigaiti in the Sun" and other works, fully felt the richness and depth of Xinjiang's ethnic music resources, and inspired him to create Xinjiang-style music in the next step.

"The teachers and students of Xinjiang University of the Arts have a heartfelt love for music, and they have been thinking about how to inherit and develop Xinjiang folk music, and have made many fruitful explorations, which are admirable. We will take this workshop as an opportunity to give full play to the professional advantages of the China Symphony Orchestra, strive to do a good job in collaborative innovation, and create and perform more literary and artistic masterpieces in Xinjiang, a fertile land of art. Yin Bo, deputy director of the China Symphony Orchestra, said.

Quan Lixin, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Xinjiang University of the Arts, said: "The China Symphony Orchestra is a national art troupe, representing the highest level of Chinese symphonic art. ”

Bringing music to the grassroots

After leaving the Xinjiang Academy of Arts, the art team of the China Symphony Orchestra went to Wujiaqu City and Shihezi City of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps to carry out the tour performance of "Our Chinese Dream - Culture into Ten Thousand Homes".

In order to bring a musical feast with "Xinjiang flavor" to the local people, the China Symphony Orchestra selected a number of well-known Xinjiang-themed works for adaptation, such as the Uygur folk song "The Girl of Dabancheng", "Lift Your Hijab", the Kazakh folk song "Lovely Rose", in addition to "Dance of the Golden Snake", "Yao Dance", "I Love You, China", "My Motherland and Me" and other classic repertoire.

"The two concerts of the China Symphony Orchestra in Wujiaqu were both public welfare performances. We put it online, and as soon as the ticket was opened, it was quickly sold out. Wang Chunhui, director of the Wujiaqu Municipal Bureau of Culture, Sports, Radio and Tourism, told reporters.

The enthusiasm of the audience was unprecedented, and every performance was packed. "This is the first time I've listened to a symphony live, and it's so good. A lot of folk songs have a different feeling after being adapted, and I especially like it. After watching the performance on the evening of April 21, Xia Yida, a Uyghur student who studied in the junior high school of Wujiaqu No. 5 Middle School, said with great satisfaction.

In addition to holding performances in the theater, the art team of the China Symphony Orchestra also entered the tourist scenic spot to carry out "flash mob" activities.

Qinggeda Lake Tourist Scenic Area is an AAAA-level scenic spot developed by relying on the "First Reservoir of Military Reclamation" Mengjin Reservoir. Every spring, a large tulip cultural tourism festival is held here. On the morning of April 21, the China Symphony Orchestra walked into the Qinggeda Lake Scenic Area and staged a string quartet "flash mob" here, attracting many citizens and tourists to "watch", including members of the Wujiaqu Military Reclamation Voice Choir.

"I love you, China. I want to dedicate my beautiful youth to you, my mother, and my motherland!" Under the leadership of the Voice of Military Reclamation Choir, citizens and tourists sang "I Love You, China" together, singing loudly and enthusiastically.

"The predecessor of Qinggeda Lake was built by our fathers and old soldiers who built a dam with a spade and a pickaxe. This song expresses the XPCC people's love for Xinjiang, taking root in Xinjiang, and building Xinjiang. Huang Yuping, the conductor of the Voice of Military Reclamation Choir, said excitedly.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. Wang Yan, member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Bureau of Culture, Sports, Radio, and Tourism of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, said: "The China Symphony Orchestra went to the XPCC to carry out literary and artistic performances to benefit the people, sending culture to the grassroots level, which brought us valuable spiritual food, and also showed the style and spirit of the XPCC through music. ”

"Symphony is an international artistic language. As a national art troupe, the China Symphony Orchestra will take on the mission of continuing to contribute to the 'cultural rejuvenation of Xinjiang', and tell the story of the XPCC and Xinjiang to the world in the form of music that integrates China and foreign countries. Yin Bo said. (Reporter Zheng Na)
