"Speed limit 120" or into history, the first super high-speed in China will be opened to traffic this year: the speed limit increased by 20%

According to the news of February 9, according to domestic media reports such as Hangzhou Daily, the main highway and rail elevated structure of the Hangzhou urban section of the Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway reconstruction project have been fully penetrated and are expected to be officially opened to traffic before the Hangzhou Asian Games in September this year.

"Speed limit 120" or into history, the first super high-speed in China will be opened to traffic this year: the speed limit increased by 20%

The Hangyong Expressway starts from Weihai Road, Zhenhai District, Ningbo City, and ends at xiasha hub in Jianggan District, Hangzhou, with a total length of 161 kilometers.

This high-speed plan was originally called "super expressway", and this concept was first proposed in 2018, which aims to build the expressways in Hangzhou, Shaoxing, Ningbo and other places into a "smart, fast, green and safe" super highway.

According to mainland regulations, 120km/h is the current statutory maximum speed of the expressway, and the maximum speed limit of the super high speed is expected to exceed this value.

According to the relevant person in charge, the goal of the super high-speed kilometer is to increase the average operating speed by about 20%-30% through intelligent systems, vehicle control and other means, and learn from the German unlimited speed limit and the Italian 150km/h speed limit, etc., to reserve the civil engineering technical indicators that break through 120km/h.

The future direction of the car is electrification, and the "super highway" naturally takes this into account in the design. The initial goal is to provide charging services for electric vehicles through solar power generation and road photovoltaic power generation, and the long-term goal is to achieve wireless charging, that is, charging while driving.

In addition, Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway will also establish a comprehensive road network operation monitoring, including an early warning system, a comprehensive perception system for people and vehicles, and an intelligent management system, and support free-flow charging.

Of course, the increase in speed limit is to transport land traffic more efficiently, improve the travel efficiency and experience of drivers and passengers, rather than encouraging drag racing or dangerous driving. Therefore, in the future, higher requirements will be put forward for the safe use of this super highway.
