In the past five years, the Guangdong Writers Association has united the majority of writers to create a number of outstanding works around the themes of the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, reform and opening up, etc., such as "Ping An Batch", "China Orbit", "China Bridge - The Road to realizing the Dream of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge", etc. have won many literary awards; "Cantonese Criticism" is unique in the country, and has successively launched 38 kinds of "Guangdong School Review Series", "Guangdong Literature and Art Review Anthology", "Lingnan Literature and Art Hundred Books" and other books; Guangdong also organized the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Literature Alliance, " The 21st Century Maritime Silk Road "Literary Development Forum" helps the literature of the Bay Area to "sail out to sea".

"Lingnan culture is distinctive, reform and opening up has brought us a culture of reform and innovation, and Guangdong's culture has new qualities, new qualities, and new nature." Recently, Jiang Shuzhuo, chairman of the Guangdong Writers Association, was interviewed by a reporter from Nanfang Daily to talk freely about the construction of a culturally strong province in Guangdong and the development of Guangdong literature.

Guangdong literary circles have won many literary awards

Nanfang Daily: What is your evaluation and feelings about Guangdong's achievements in building a culturally strong province in the past five years, especially the overall creative achievements of Guangdong's literary circles?

Jiang Shuzhuo: In recent years, the provincial party committee and the provincial government have attached great importance to the construction of a culturally strong province, and have taken bigger steps and invested more. Guangdong's literary creation is in line with the times and the pace of building a culturally strong province, and the overall trend is upward and good.

A culturally strong province must have a general history of literature. At present, we are compiling the 5-volume 2 million-word "General History of Guangdong Literature", which is an unprecedented measure in Guangdong.

In recent years, Guangdong's literary scene has blossomed and flourished. The province has successively identified more than 70 major realistic and historical themes in Guangdong, major realistic themes and red themes in Guangdong, and the selection of topics for the creation of young writers in Guangdong Province, and is currently ushering in a harvest period. Among them, Feng Na's poetry collection "Countless Lights Selected Night" won the 12th (2016-2019) National Minority Literature Creation Horse Award; Deng Yiguang's novel "People, or All Soldiers" won the 4th Annual Gold List of Novels (2019) Annual Gold List Works; Hu Yonghong's novel "Ballad of Going to School" and Wu Yan's science fiction literature "China Orbit" won the 11th National Outstanding Children's Literature Award.

Encourage writers to go deep into the two cooperation zones to collect styles

Nanfang Daily: In terms of the theme of the Humanistic Bay Area, what breakthroughs have been made in Guangdong literature?

Jiang Shuzhuo: In view of the themes of jointly building a humanistic bay area and shaping the humanistic spirit of the bay area, the provincial writers association has made arrangements and achieved remarkable results. For example, the reportage "China Bridge - The Road to realizing the Dream of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge" created by the writer Zeng Pingbiao won the special award of the "Five Ones Project" of the Central Propaganda Department.

In recent years, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Literary Alliance, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Literary Review, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Literature Seminar and other mechanisms and publications to promote the integration and development of literature in the Greater Bay Area have been established and established. At present, around the development of the two cooperation zones of Hengqin and Qianhai, we are advocating that writers go deep into the two cooperation zones and Nansha to collect wind and create reportage.

Guangdong should actively "borrow a boat to go to sea", give full play to the advantages of Hong Kong and Macao as "super contacts", and use platforms such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Literary Alliance to promote the wide dissemination of more outstanding literary works in Guangdong.

Guangdong should build an industrial chain of online literature

Nanfang Daily: Guangdong is a major province of online literature and has also made remarkable achievements in the cultural industry. Do you have any suggestions for Guangdong's next stage to promote the high-quality development of literature combined with these two fields?

Jiang Shuzhuo: In Guangdong, there are more than 200,000 literary authors in the new era, more than 40,000 registered online authors, and more than 150 head writers; in the field of new cultural formats such as live e-commerce, online games, and digital music, Guangdong basically ranks among the best, and some fields are even the first in the country.

In terms of online literature, Guangdong is extremely successful, but it is still necessary to learn from the excellent experience of other provinces and form a complete industrial chain of literary IP into cultural products such as television, movies, and animation. At the same time, it is also necessary to pay attention to the cultivation of outstanding young talents, and create a good platform for their officers to start a business and provide preferential policies for sustainability.

Construct an academic genealogy of "Cantonese criticism"

Nanfang Daily: As the instigator and advocate of "Cantonese criticism", can you talk about the achievements of "Cantonese criticism" in recent years and the next development suggestions?

Jiang Shuzhuo: In May 2016, the China Literary and Art Criticism Base of Jinan University, the Guangdong Literary and Art Critics Association, and the Yangcheng Evening News jointly held an academic seminar on "Literary Criticism and the Generation of Chinese Literary History in the 20th Century", at which the topic of "Cantonese Criticism" was proposed, which was recognized and respected by many scholars. Under the guidance of the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, the special funding of Guangdong Provincial Propaganda and Cultural Development, and the support of the Guangdong People's Publishing House, Chen Jianhui and Zhang Peizhong co-edited the "Cantonese Criticism Series", which has published 38 kinds so far.

We hope to construct an academic genealogy of "Cantonese criticism", and academic masters such as Huang Zunxian, Kang Youwei, Liang Qichao in modern times, Liang Zongdai, Huang Yaomian, Xiao Yin, Zhong Jingwen, huang Xiuji, Rao Pengzi, Xie Wangxin, etc., are all the objects of our research. Paying attention to the current literary phenomenon is also the focus of "Cantonese criticism", and the Provincial Writers Association founded the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Literary Review" magazine in 2020 to further help "Cantonese criticism". In the next stage, we will promote the establishment of a literary criticism base in the province to help young literary critics grow. In addition, the next batch of 12 books will be published, and the future "Cantonese Criticism" series will reach 50.
