On the evening of February 8, 2022 (the eighth day of the first lunar month), the first performance of the Symphony Suite "Ice and Snow Rendezvous" of the Beijing Winter Olympics was held at the Zhongshan Park Music Hall in Beijing.

The performance kicked off with a beautiful overture called "Ice and Snow Dreams". After more than an hour of performance, the stage was full of passion, and the audience was enthusiastic. In the finale, "One World", bursts of warm applause pushed the atmosphere of the concert to the climax.

The Beijing Winter Olympic Symphony Suite "Ice and Snow Rendezvous" consists of five parts, including a prelude, three movements and a finale. The overture "Ice and Snow Dream" depicts the incomparably dreamy and colorful world in the ice and snow season in a freehand way, and the music pays attention to the change of color; the first movement, "Ice and Snow Flying Dance", depicts the competition items of the Winter Olympic Games and connects them with dance vocabulary; the second movement , "Passion Dream", full of bright colors and bright passions, expresses magnificent dreams; the third movement, "Ice and Snow Rendezvous", is the core movement of the entire symphony suite, showing That Beijing welcomes guests from all over the world with the attitude of the master, and the music has both "Chinese flavor". Beijing rhyme", and "international fan", so that the classical beauty of the East and the unrestrained enthusiasm of the West blend and complement each other; the final song "One World", is a summary of the symphonic suite, embodying the olympic core spirit of the community of human destiny and peace and love, surging with passion, playing the strongest sound of love.

The premiere was presented by the Beijing Symphony Orchestra. Jiao Feihu, a young conductor of the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, said in an interview that the work is oriented to the people, absorbs the characteristics of classical music and modern pop music, has a beautiful melody, makes people full of fantasy, and expresses the core spirit of the Olympic Games to the fullest, which not only praises the Olympic spirit, but also allows the audience to feel the composer's deep thinking about mankind and the infinite yearning for peace.

The symphonic suite "Ice and Snow Rendezvous" is a 2020 funded project of the Beijing Culture and Art Foundation, composed by composers Zheng Junsheng and Zheng Junli. Set against the backdrop of the "Winter Olympics", the works aim to highly praise and disseminate the infinite power and great spirit of the Winter Olympics through the special art form of symphonic suites in the musical art.

It is reported that the work will be toured nationwide from February to August this year.
