On February 8, the World Table Tennis Professional League announced that the first tournament of the WTT Grand Slam will be held in Singapore from March 7 to 20. This is the first Grand Slam tournament launched since the establishment of the World Table Tennis Federation, aiming to rewrite the history of table tennis, so it is particularly eye-catching.

The Grand Slam is the highest level event in the WTT Series, with a singles champion who will earn 2,000 points, the equivalent of the Olympic Games and the World Championships. The total prize money for the Singapore leg is US$2 million, of which the men's and women's singles champions will each receive US$100,000, and the players who pass out of the first round of the qualifying round and the main tournament will also share 40% of the prize money.

Singapore will feature 64 men and women in singles competitions, 24 pairs in men's and women's doubles and 16 pairs in mixed doubles. The men's and women's singles qualifiers will be held from 7 to 9 March.

The list of participants has not yet been announced, and it is estimated that there will be no less than 30 participants in the national table tennis. Chinese players are expected to achieve good results in the first WTT Grand Slam.
