Li Zhengrong, a 53-year-old Gaoyou man from Yangzhou, has been out of control since falling in love with the art of egg carving in 2004. For 18 years, he has used a knife to write, condensing everything in the world on thin eggshells. With exquisite egg carving skills, Li Zhengrong has gained many personal honors, become a "celebrity" in the industry, and is also the holder of the Guinness World Record for Egg Carving. Li Zhengrong introduced that in order to present the Winter Olympics, at the beginning of this year, he began to create egg carving works with Winter Olympic elements, and after more than a month of design, carving and polishing, he finally carved nearly 10 kinds of Winter Olympic patterns on the eggshell, including both the emblem of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, as well as mascots such as "Ice Pier" and "Snow Rongrong".
Among the winter Olympic-themed egg carvings, the most eye-catching is an emu egg carving. Emus is the world's second largest bird in size to the ostrich, living in Australia, the size of the emu eggs is relatively large and rare. Li Zhengrong carefully designed this emus egg, in the middle is the icon of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, surrounded by flying snowflakes, with green eggshells, showing a different kind of ice and snow world, very beautiful, breathtaking. According to Li Zhengrong, the emu egg is a dark green shell from the appearance, but by carving it layer by layer, the layers of different colors gradually appear, very beautiful.
