On the evening of February 6, the first award ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics was held at the same time in the award squares of Beijing and Zhangjiakou. After the competition on February 5, some spectators found that the winning athletes only received an Olympic souvenir of an ice pier, which is actually an important cultural feature of the Winter Olympics that distinguishes them from the Summer Olympics. After the Winter Olympic Games, souvenirs will be awarded in the arena, and then a grand award ceremony will be held in the special award square. The stage and performances in the awards plaza show a strong Chinese style.

Wakami "igloo" has the temperature of home

The Beijing Winter Olympics have set up a total of three award squares, among which the Beijing Awards Square stage is named after "Beauty and Harmony", which carries the sincerity of welcoming guests from all over the world to celebrate the Spring Festival, so as to realize the beautiful meaning of beauty, beauty and coexistence, and harmony and symbiosis. Zhangjiakou Awards Plaza is named after "Passion for Dreams", and its design concept combines the graceful posture of skiing with the shape of snowy mountains, showing the quietness and purity of snow and the agility and activity of athletes in a dynamic and quiet manner. The Yanqing Winter Paralympic Awards Plaza is named after the "Tree of Life", with the towering tree in the ice and snow as the main scene, and embellished with snowflake shapes, which fully reflects the tenacious vitality of the Winter Paralympic athletes in the snow and praises the tenacious, hard-working and endless sports spirit of life.

Beijing Awards Plaza is located between the "Bird's Nest" and the "Ice Cube", with a total area of 18,000 square meters and an actual use area of about 12,000 square meters. Wei Xiaomei, deputy director of the venue media, introduced that the Beijing Awards Plaza began construction on September 8, 2021, which took more than 3 months to complete, in addition to the celebration ceremony, it also gathered more than 30 professional functions such as broadcast services, media operations, and event services. Yang Muzi, deputy general manager of Bei'ao Group, introduced that from stage creative planning to theme positioning, from the first stage hand-drawn paper to the completion of the "igloo" now, it has experienced careful planning and careful implementation by the professional forces of all parties. The special performance shows the cultural charm

Before each ceremony, the awards square also pays tribute to athletes from all over the world through wonderful cultural performances, light and shadow shows, theme song "Tribute to the Warriors" and other forms, spreading the culture of the Winter Olympics and displaying Chinese culture to the world.

The team of Beijing Radio and Television Director Qin Zheng undertook the landing task of the live performance in Beijing Awards Square, and Qin Zheng just directed this year's Beijing Spring Festival Gala. Qin Zheng said that the live performance of the award square follows the requirements of the Beijing Winter Olympics "simple, safe and wonderful", and there are three performance programs every day before the award ceremony, of which the theme song of the award square "Tribute to the Warriors" will be played. "Because of the epidemic, the number of performance teams on the spot is not large, and there are only a dozen actors in Beijing and Zhangjiakou, but they play an important role in setting off the atmosphere of the awards and ushering in the highlight moments of athletes."

In order to pay the greatest respect to the athletes, the live music deliberately selected the melodic fragments of the famous song "I Love You Saibei Snow" in China, reinterpreting the familiar Chinese songs of the 1980s, showing China's continuous pursuit and yearning for ice and snow sports over the years. At the same time, the music recording uses a very representative traditional Chinese instrument such as "chimes" to arrange the music, integrating Chinese elements, so that the winning athletes can feel the sincere congratulations from China at the moment of winning the podium.
