Chuan Xiaomi Group will establish a smartphone production base on Tierra del Fuego in Argentina

Jiwei network news, on February 7, Interface News quoted Argentina's "Twelve Pages" reported that government officials accompanying Argentine President Alberto Fernandez on a visit said that Xiaomi will establish a production base on Tierra del Fuego in Argentina for the production of smart phones, and the announcement is expected to be released within 60 days. This means that the investment in Argentina will reach millions of dollars.

It is reported that there have been rumors that Xiaomi has produced mobile phones in Argentina. Twelve Pages reports that xiaomi phones are expected to be foundry by Argentine local company Agentcor-Solnik, which has a factory on Tierra del Fuego and has the industrial equipment needed to produce the latest generation of electronics. The Argentine company, which currently employs 400 people, will also provide after-sales service for Xiaomi products, with Bose, Nokia and Apple all being its customers.

According to a latest report released by research firm Canalys, the Indian smartphone market will ship a record 162 million units in 2021, an increase of 12% over 2020. Among them, Xiaomi's shipments were 40.5 million units, ranking first with a market share of 25%. Samsung followed with 30.1 million units shipped and a market share of 19%.

In the domestic market, Counterpoint data shows that in 2021, the Chinese market smartphones, vivo ranked first with a market share of 22%, OPPO (including one plus data) accounted for the second with a market share of 21%, Apple accounted for 16%, and Xiaomi accounted for 15%. This was followed by Honor, Huawei and Realme.
