Today's public art is likely to become tomorrow's cultural heritage. And the greatness of the public artist is that it guides you how to see, not only the sculpture, but also the world.
In this issue of "The Most Beautiful Cultural People", we invited Mr. Jing Yumin, one of the leading figures in the field of public art in China, the chief designer of tianjin float celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the founder of the public art major of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, and the famous sculptor.
Jing Yumin, born in 1956, graduated from the Sculpture Department of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, served as the deputy director of the Art Committee of the National Urban Sculpture Construction Steering Committee, the vice president of the Central Academy of Fine Arts of the China Democratic League, and the former dean of the School of Public Art of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. He has participated in many major exhibitions at home and abroad, and some of his works have been collected by the National Museum of China, the National Art Museum of China, the Shanghai Sculpture Museum, many sculpture parks at home and abroad, overseas institutions and individuals. Many cities across the country have landed and exhibited their works.
As an artist with a unique style in the industry, he continues to expand the new forms of Contemporary Chinese sculpture in parallel with his personal creation and public art. His sculptures have won the highest prize in the sculpture category in the national art exhibition, and he is also the only artist in the field of public art who has won the "China Public Art Academic Award" for three consecutive years.
In recent years, each of his works must attract thousands of people's attention once unveiled, from the design of the main torch of the 7th City Games, the 13th Games, the 10th Paralympic Games and the 7th Special Olympics games of the People's Republic of China, to the chief designer of the "New Era, New Tianjin" float celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Jing Yumin's achievements and status in the field of public art are obvious.
In the field of public art, every creation of Jing Yumin can be said to be the peak of his last time. Today, the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games are in full swing, with Olympic athletes staging speed and passion on the ice rink, and a public artwork called "Snow Dance 2022" outside the arena is also cheering them up with their romantic rotation with the wind and snow. Jing Yumin once again occupied our attention with new works, from which we not only read the moving spirit of the Winter Olympics, but also every time we stopped to gaze at the snow dance, we also seemed to have gone to an ice and snow covenant full of passion and memories.
