The author of this sculpture is Huang Jian, an outstanding alumnus of Changsha University of Science and Technology, a visiting professor of the School of Design and Art, and the first Chinese sculpture artist to be awarded the "Olympic Art Ambassador" by the International Olympic Committee. "The Covenant of the Winter Olympics" is one of a series of works created by Huang Jian for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games. As early as the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Huang Jian focused his creation theme on the Olympic Games.
