Bobsleigh bobsleigh
Bobsleigh has a long history and includes bobsleigh, skeleton and luge. At the first Winter Olympics held in Chamonix, France in 1924, bobsleigh was included in the competition. The initial bobsleigh race was played on a track built with natural ice. Construction of artificial circuits began in the 1960s, establishing standards for track design. At the same time, international sports organizations have been revising the track standards in pursuit of faster, safer and fairer competitions.
Unlike regular competition venues, bobsleigh is a sport that pursues extreme speed, and bobsleigh competition is held on an ice-covered track with a length of about 2km, so it is called "Formula 1 on snow".

Located in the south of the core area of the Yanqing Competition Area of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the National Bobsleigh Center is the only bobsleigh track in China, the seventeenth track in the world, and the third in Asia to meet the Olympic competition standards. The topography of the building site changes complexly, with a height difference of about 150m from the north side high point to the south side low point area, and the average natural slope is more than 16%. Because of its appearance, it looks like a dragon winding from north to south on the ridge on the west side of the entrance to the competition area, so the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee also gave it a nice name - "Snow Dragon".
In 2018, Shanghai Baoye, an enterprise in Baoshan District, won the bid to participate in the construction of the National Bobsleigh Center Track, which was the first time in China.
In the construction process of the track, through technical research and process innovation, the Baoshan team successfully trial-produced the track structure sprayed concrete material with high pumping, high performance and high freeze-thaw resistance characteristics, developed a complete set of track process technology for jet molding of space heterogeneous hyperboloid track, the skeleton of the track, and the precision molding process of refrigeration pipelines, and released the "big move" of successful track construction.
After the track took shape, new problems followed. How do I make ice in a curved environment? How to ensure the safety and stability of athletes during high-speed taxiing?
Through foreign support team teaching and continuous exploration by domestic ice makers, the team has formed a special technology for track ice making and ice repair. At the beginning of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the globe, and all foreign experts were evacuated. In such a situation, the staff works closely with foreign experts through remote connection, and the domestic refrigeration personnel, engineers and technicians work together to build. Finally, in March 2020, the track's first ice repair mission was successfully completed within the scheduled time node.
After the completion of the project on June 30, 2021, the team had a new task: to carry out operation and maintenance of the stadium system. Since then, the team's staff has been sticking to the Beijing Winter Olympics National Bobsleigh Center to provide support for the training and competition of ice and snow athletes.
It is reported that after the End of the Winter Olympics on February 20, the staff will also carry out closed-loop management.
