Qin's "Mai Ji Hymn" is based on a true historical story, based on a statue of Guanyin in the Mai Ji Shan Grottoes that resembles a mother's image, telling that during the war-torn Wei and Jin Dynasties, the Weakened Western Wei Dynasty decided to marry the Ruoran State in order to deal with the threat from the Eastern Wei, and under the persecution of Princess Ruoran and the Ruoran army, first abolished the prince, then abolished the empress, Empress Yifu was the scourge of war, repeatedly gave way to the First Depreciation Leng Palace, and then was framed by Princess Rouran and Yuwen Tai, and was sent to Qin Prefecture Mai Jishan twice to cut her hair as a nun. Eventually he set himself on fire and died.
Since its premiere in October 2009, the play has been performed more than 150 times in Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan, Xi'an, Baoji, Urumqi, Lanzhou, Jiayuguan, Zhangye, Pingliang, Qingyang, Tianshui and other places. The play has won the Gansu Provincial Grand Prize for Newly Created Repertoire In Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of New China, the Outstanding Repertoire Award of the 5th Qin Cavity Arts Festival, the Special Prize of the 1st MaiJishan Literature and Art Award, the 10th China Arts Festival and the 14th "Wenhua Excellent Repertoire Award", etc. The exhibition was starred by Yuan Yaya, winner of the Plum Blossom Award of the Western Qin Cavity Research Institute of Tianshui City, and Bian Xiao, a national first-class actor and winner of the Plum Blossom Award.
