Genises is a relatively unfamiliar car brand to domestic consumers, but in fact, in 2008, the high-end brand of hyundai group has already come to China, when the brand name was Lawnes, and later changed to Genesis and was also sold in China. After 10 years of operation since 2005, it announced its withdrawal from the Chinese market in 2016 due to the market response, but it is still active in the Southeast Asian market. Although it failed, it can be seen that Hyundai Group attaches great importance to the Chinese market, until April 2021, this Korean high-end brand was officially introduced to the Chinese market under the new name of Jenissy. This time in China, Jeniss has brought two models in advance, one is the medium and large administrative sedan G80, and the other is the medium and large SUV GV80.
The protagonist of our review today is the GeniseyS GV80. As an imported model, can it meet the diversified needs of domestic consumers after entering the Chinese market? Will there be some new problems that are difficult for ordinary consumers to discover? This issue of "New Car Commodity Evaluation" will break through the fog for you, through the two dimensions of objective data and subjective feelings, restore a real GenisesYS GV80.
1. Objective data
This project mainly shows the performance of the new car in terms of commerciality in the form of objective data through field tests of 12 items such as body technology, paint film level, interior air quality, noise from the car, static vibration in the car, parking radar and lighting/vision.
In the body process testing session, a total of 10 key parts of the vehicle are selected, and 3 key points are selected for measurement in each key part to evaluate the uniformity of the gaps in each key part. Judging from the test results, the average gap data of most parts of the Genisesy GV80 vehicle is at a relatively low level. However, it can be found that the average difference between the same test parts on the left and right sides of the vehicle is generally large, especially the difference between the gap between the left and right rear fenders and the trunk reaches 1.2mm, and the side also reflects that there is still room for improvement in the assembly process of the Genisesee GV80.
In the paint film level test, it should be pointed out that due to the non-metallic cover of the trunk cover of the Geniseys GV80, no valid data was obtained in this test. Through the test results, it can be found that the average thickness of the paint film of the GV80 vehicle is about 114.92 μm, which is higher than the standard value of the mid-level car (≥ 90 μm). Judging from the test data of each key part, the paint film thickness of the left two doors and the right front door is lower than the standard value of the intermediate car, while the paint film thickness values of the remaining parts are also quite different, and the side also reflects that the uniformity of the paint film spraying of the car needs to be improved.
In the in-vehicle air quality testing link, the vehicle is placed in the internal ground parking lot with fewer vehicles, and the formaldehyde component is not detected in the car of the GV80, which is in line with the relevant standards in the "Guidelines for Air Quality Evaluation in Passenger Cars" (National Standard OF THE People's Republic of China GB/T 27630-2011) implemented since March 1, 2012, jointly issued by the former Ministry of Environmental Protection and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China. At the same time, the content of inhalable particulate matter such as PM2.5 is also at a relatively low level.
In the static noise test, the GenisesYS GV80 performed well in the quietness of the car in the static state, and the test score has dropped to the minimum value of the test instrument 30dB, which can almost be isolated from the external environment. With the start of the engine, the noise value in the incoming car shows a gradual increase trend, and the noise value in the incoming car at 3000 rpm is 52.1dB, which is at an average level compared with the tested models of the same class. Comparing the noise values in the following different environments, the GeniseyS GV80 performs well for engine noise suppression, and it will hardly cause nuisance to the occupants of the car under working conditions.
In the air conditioning noise test, the test instrument is placed at a position of about 10cm from the air conditioner outlet, and then the air conditioning air volume is adjusted from small to large, and the noise value of the driver's position in different gears is measured. After actual measurement, the air conditioning adjustment of The Denissis GV80 is divided into 7 gears, and the measured noise value is 62.3dB when the highest grade is opened, which is still within the range that the human body can tolerate and will not cause too much nuisance to the drivers and passengers.
After actual measurement, in the idle state, the vibration of the Genisesy GV80 engine into the car is relatively limited, and the steering wheel is close to the test data of the front and rear seats. Under load, the test data at the steering wheel has not changed, the body sensation is not obvious, and the vibration values of the front and rear seats are always at a relatively low level, and the overall performance is better than that of the same level of models tested.
In addition, we tested parking radar, lights/vision, control systems, tire hubs, sunroofs, seats, and trunks. After actual measurement, the overall performance of the Genisesy GV80 has reached the level that a luxury brand should have, the front and rear radar adopt a three-stage design, and the tone of each section is clearly recognizable; the rear seat back not only supports electric adjustment, but also has a large adjustment range, while the rear headrest also supports angle adjustment to maximize the comfort of the rear passengers. However, there is room for optimization in some details. For example, the rear seat electric adjustment can only be moved forward, and the backward movement is manually adjusted; the sunroof adopts a two-stage type, which can be opened in a small area. In addition, although the front radar has three prompts, the first sound is only 90cm away from the obstacle, so you should pay attention to the control distance when driving.
It is worth mentioning that the rear seats also have an electric adjustment function, and the rear seat back angle can be adjusted between 95.3 ° -115.7 °, so that long rides will not cause fatigue.
Second, subjective feelings
The project was subjectively evaluated by a number of reviewers on the actual performance of the new car in terms of static and dynamics. Among them, the static aspect includes four parts: exterior, interior, space and human-computer interaction; the dynamic aspect includes acceleration, braking, steering, driving experience and driving safety. Finally, the total score is given with reference to the subjective evaluation opinions given by the judges, so as to reflect the actual performance of the new car in terms of commerciality from the perspective of subjective feelings.
In the external perception evaluation, the overall performance of the Geniseys GV80 was in line with expectations, especially in terms of lighting and engine compartment layout, which was unanimously affirmed by the expert jury. The whole series is equipped with LED headlights, automatic headlights, LED daytime running lights as standard, and the test model is also equipped with adaptive proximity lights. The interior of the engine compartment is well organized, the components are neatly arranged, and the insulation sleeve and tape are sufficient, and there is no large area of exposed cables. In contrast, in the vehicle unlocking and mechanical key use is slightly inconvenient, Denises GV80 only the front row is equipped with a keyless entry function, but does not support induction unlocking, you need to manually press the door handle to open the door, in addition, the mechanical key is very difficult to obtain, in the smart key failure is more troublesome.
The interior of the Genisesy GV80 adopts the design style of "white space beauty", simple center console design, and there is no lack of technology and luxury. The dual-width multi-function steering wheel, the through-channel air conditioner air outlet, the full LCD instrument and the suspended central control touch screen are all very popular elements nowadays. The lower center console retains the physical buttons in the air conditioning area and adopts a knob-type gear shift mechanism. In terms of workmanship and materials, the GV80 has also made real efforts and reached the level that a first-class model should have. The interior is covered with a large area of leather material, and the combination of leather stitching and wood grain decoration above the center console and armrests and metal materials not only has an excellent texture, but also creates a luxurious sense of interior. However, during the test, it was found that the left air conditioner knob was somewhat loose, and the actual experience was slightly worse.
In terms of riding space, the wheelbase of the Genisesee GV80 has reached 2955mm, and the legroom is fully guaranteed. In terms of storage space, the performance of the Genisesy GV80 is also remarkable, the whole car is designed with multiple storage compartments, but some storage space design is not reasonable, such as the space left by hollowing out the design under the center console, although the area is quite OK, but the opening is small, and it is more laborious to take items.
The 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster of the GenisesYS GV80 has a naked-eye 3D function, and the 3D effect is very obvious, but the picture quality becomes general under the 3D effect, far less delicate than the 2D effect. The Geniseys GV80 series comes standard with a 14.5-inch central control screen, which is very good in terms of display effect and system fluency. However, due to the suspension screen setting is more inward, coupled with some height of the center console, it is a bit obstructive to operate. The car machine system is jointly developed with Baidu, with built-in Baidu maps, supporting ar reality navigation, CarPlay, Baidu CarLife and QQ music and other native apps. Of course, the functions on the screen can also be controlled by the knob below the center console, and some functions can also be controlled by the intelligent voice system. The braking pedal is moderately strong, but the actual experience can find that the first half of the stroke is longer, and the braking force release in this range is not linear enough, which can actually be optimized. The Geniseys GV80 has good steering accuracy, moderate steering and precise steering, with almost no vacancy. The suspension also has excellent roll suppression, and it does not feel at all that it is driving a large car with a length of nearly 5 meters.
The chassis of the Geniseys GV80 adopts a combination of dual wishbone independent suspension and rear multi-link independent suspension, and is also equipped with electromagnetic induction suspension as standard, and the whole series is equipped with a multi-disc clutch-type full-time four-wheel drive system. The Geniseys GV80 tested this time is also excellent in terms of driving assistance. During the actual experience, the overall performance was in line with the expectations of the expert jury.
