On February 3, the farewell ceremony of the martyrs Opaul and Wejid was held at the Hechi City Funeral Home. The families of the two martyrs, their former comrades-in-arms and friends, as well as the representatives of the masses from all walks of life who spontaneously went there, sent the hero on his last journey with great sorrow.

At the ceremony, documents such as the Ministry of Emergency Management and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were read out, respectively, which approved two comrades Ou Baoer and Wei Jide as martyrs, the Fire Rescue Bureau of the Ministry of Emergency Management posthumously recorded the first class merits of the two comrades, and the Guangxi District Committee of the Communist Youth League posthumously awarded the two comrades the "Guangxi Youth May Fourth Medal"; introduced the life deeds of the martyrs Ou Baoer and Wei Jide, and reviewed their lives of unremitting struggle for emergency management and fire rescue and bowing to the interests of the party and the people.
"They may be born ordinary, but the glory of death, for the country and the people, is heavier than Mount Tai!" In his eulogy, the leader of the Hechi City Fire Rescue Detachment said that deeply remembering the martyrs Ou Baoer and WeiJid is to carry forward their political qualities of loyalty to the party and courageous mission; to learn from their heroic spirit of charging forward and sacrificing their lives and forgetting their deaths; to practice the purpose and adhere to the original intention of serving the people; and to take root in the grassroots and make meritorious contributions. They are worthy of the cultivation of their parents, the education of the organization, and the entrustment of the party and the people. Their heroic feats moved the world, showing noble professionalism and selfless dedication.
A crowd spontaneously came to mourn the two firefighters who died
After the farewell ceremony, the hearse escorting the ashes of the martyrs Opaul and Wejid slowly drove out of the funeral home and headed for the martyrs' hometown. At the various intersections where the hearse passed, people from all walks of life stood solemnly on both sides of the road, mourning for the martyrs, watching the motorcade slowly leave, and many citizens could not suppress their grief, wept bitterly, and watched with tears.
At about 23:00 on January 31, a fire broke out in a private sofa production workshop in Laotun, Gugan Village Bureau, Dahua Yao Autonomous County, dahua Yao Autonomous County, and a family of 7 people was trapped. According to the dispatch of the Hechi City Fire Rescue Detachment, Opaul, Comrades Weijid and 58 fire rescue personnel rushed to the fire site to participate in the rescue. They evacuated 5 trapped people in the billowing smoke. After O'Paul and Wejd learned from the rescued that there was still an old man and a child trapped in the fire, they quickly changed their personal protective equipment and returned to the fire for the second time. In the face of the raging fire and billowing smoke, they did not let go of every room and every corner, and when they searched and rescued the second-floor room one by one, they suddenly burst into flames. O'Paul and Wejd were trapped in the fire, and at the last moment of their lives, they used walkie-talkies to report to their comrades where the masses were trapped. The on-site emergency rescue team crossed the sea of fire and risked a comprehensive search and rescue at the risk of re-ignition, and after they were rescued, the medical staff at the scene did their best to rescue them, and they were seriously injured and heroically sacrificed. The trapped old man and child were subsequently rescued.
Ou Baoer, male, Zhuang ethnicity, born in December 1995, Huanjiang, Guangxi, joined the fire service in September 2014, member of the Communist Party of China. In the past 8 years since joining the team, he has devoted all his youth and enthusiasm to the cause of fire rescue, fearless of danger and charged ahead in every battle, and practiced the original mission of a communist party member and firefighter with his own words and deeds. Since joining the team, he has participated in more than 300 fire fighting and rescue battles, rescued more than 100 trapped people, and performed prominently in many major fire fighting and rescue and flood rescue battles.
Wei Jide, male, Zhuang ethnicity, born in August 1998, From Du'an, Guangxi, joined the fire fighting work in October 2020, member of the Communist Youth League. In every fire fighting and rescue mission, he has always been brave and tenacious, charging forward, and interpreting the heroic nature of the people's fire fighting for the people with his own practical actions. Since entering the fire brigade, he has participated in more than 60 fire fighting and rescue cases, making outstanding contributions to protecting the safety of people's lives and property in the station.
