Zhang Li, the dean of tsinghua architecture college who wears black full-frame glasses and wears a black jacket, seems to be polite and polite, but when it comes to sports, he is actually a sports expert. "Usually, I like to exercise very much, especially running, about 10 kilometers a day, and I have not stopped for nearly two decades." On February 2, as the torchbearer of the Winter Olympics, he told the Science and Technology Daily reporter.

Zhang Li said, "Serving as the Olympic torchbearer is a great honor for anyone. When I learned this news, my direct feeling was to thank the Beijing Winter Olympics and to my colleagues and comrades-in-arms who have worked together for many years. The Winter Olympics is a Chinese practice in Which Beijing interprets the combination of the Olympic movement and sustainable development under the new development concept of the country and under the support of scientific and technological innovation, and provides reference for the international community. ”

In fact, as early as the success of the bid for the Winter Olympics, the responsibility and mission on Zhang Li's shoulders were closely linked to the Winter Olympics - as the general manager of the design of the Zhangjiakou competition area and the Shougang ski jump of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, he participated in and witnessed the design and birth of the technically difficult competition venue "Snow Ruyi" in the Zhangjiakou area of the Beijing Winter Olympics and the world's first permanent snowboard big jumping platform "Snow Flying".

Zhang Li said, "As the overall person in charge of the design of the Zhangjiakou Division of the Winter Olympics and the Beijing Shougang Ski Jump, the breakthrough that my team and I are most excited about is the comprehensive introduction of human factors design technology in the planning and design of the Olympic Games for the first time, and successfully realize the seamless integration of the during-game tasks and post-race tasks in the planning and design of the venue." Recently, my team and I have been focusing on urban human factors engineering, through human factors design technology to replace subjective judgments with objective data, and to achieve accurate decision-making in planning and design. ”

In Zhang Li's view, the biggest difference between the Beijing Winter Olympics is that we no longer think about how to just make a grand event, but pay more attention to long-term sustainable use. In the design of the venue, he conveys many elements of traditional Chinese culture, and he believes that this is not an option, but a responsibility. At the same time, "the performance of each image must be related to the role it plays in life at the end, and the 'image' alone cannot last long." ”

Zhang Li said that many facilities of the Winter Olympics project, such as jumping platforms, ski slopes, etc., serve the sports training of "Superman", ordinary people are basically difficult to use, he has applied the accumulation of urban design over the years and the experience and knowledge collected by urban people in the test, applied to the design of the venue, such as in the "Snow Ruyi" design from the bottom to the top of the steps, let people go up and down, just like walking in the mountains; in the "Snow Flying Sky", the use of the lake surface to create a walking space around the lake, These are all to organize the future travels of ordinary people, the recognition of culture, and some experiences close to the competition facilities. The track is for Superman, but the building itself also offers a lot of possibilities for ordinary people, and when these facilities are combined, they form the current venues, and we hope that these venues will prove to be better integrated with life after the game.

At the National Ski Jumping Center, Zhang Li led the team to use a lot of technology, including virtual reality and human factors testing technology, please help judge the old Shougang people who have lived in Shougang for 30 or 40 years - what kind of jumping angle can help him continue the memory of the industry, and finally set the current angle. The end area of the platform sinks five meters below the lake, so that the entire height of the platform is lower than the cooling tower, becoming a curve for the cooling tower to be extended. As a result, the Shougang Ski Jump, which will be built on the Shougang site, retains its heritage on the one hand, and on the other hand, combines with elements such as the Winter Olympics.

Zhang Li said, "On the question of how the Olympic Games can contribute to the sustainable development of a specific country, city and community, China is actually providing some of its own answers and participating in this discussion with the world." ”

Talking about the relationship between technology and sports, Zhang Li believes that sports stimulate people's potential and allow people to discover better selves in the process of challenging physical limits. Science and technology empower sports, so that sports to stimulate people more systematic, scientific, so that everyone in sports to get greater benefits. In modern sports, technology is everywhere, from facilities and equipment to training and competition. It can be said that in the contemporary international sports competition, technology is the most rapidly changing variable.

For the sports expert, what is the most important event for this Winter Olympics? "There will definitely be attention to the ski jumping and snowboard jumping competitions related to the projects designed by my team. In addition, there has always been a lot of interest in biathlon events, and the combination of skiing and shooting can be described as a modern version of the 'Seven Swords Under the Heavenly Mountains', which is very interesting. Zhang Li replied with a smile.
