The epic story of the Yi people is based on the calendar

It is said that there is no calendar in the age of the vertical eye, there is no year, there is no month, and there is no day and night.

Inside the high firmament, there is the golden sun and the shining moon. In the center of the moon, there are two cypress trees, one green cypress and one black cypress.

The black one grew very fast, and the treetops grew very tall, against the sun. Branches spread in all directions, branch by branch, and the leaves are so lush that they obscure the sun and the moon.

Since the leaves obscured the sun and the moon, the earth was pitch black and nothing could be seen, and no sunlight could be seen or the moon. The vertical-eyed man had no way to see the road, no way to walk, only crawling like a four-legged snake. People with vertical eyes can't see people's faces clearly, and they can't hear people talking, so they don't dare to do their work.

The god of the thixotropy is also born of Ahesinimo. He came to the heavenly court and reported the scene of the human world to Theomu (Yi russian, meaning emperor. Luxury Russian wood is the Emperor of Heaven. )

After hearing this, He opened his mouth and ordered the god Cegzi, "Celestial God Cegzi, you send an emissary to the moon to find out what is going on!"

The god Cegez, so he sent squirrels and green snakes to see. Squirrels and green snakes, came to the foot of the green cypress tree, climbed to the green cypress tree, climbed along the branches, climbed along the trunk, and carefully probed.

Under the black cypress tree, a black paint, squirrels can't see the real green snake can't see clearly, vaguely return to heaven.

Seeing the god Cegtz, the green snake and the squirrel, I don't know what to do, and the god of heaven, Cheganzi, said that the two of them didn't explain what was going on for half a day. So, the god Cergiz sent a monkey to find out the details.

The clever monkey climbed the green cypress without seeing clearly, and then went to the foot of the black cypress tree, touched the trunk, climbed on the branches, climbed to the top of the treetops, and probed everywhere. It turned out that this black cypress tree obscured the sun and the moon.

The monkey returned to the heavenly palace and reported to the wood in front of Tsegertz: "That black cypress tree, the root of the tree is like a rotten coat, the main root is wide and thick, and the small roots are a bush. The trunk is thick but not a knot, not a hole, the branches are numerous and multiplying, and the leaves spread to the four sides are more luxuriant, covering the sky, and the leaves are too many to count. The green cypress tree next to the black cypress tree, with twelve trunks and twelve sections of roots; the main trunk through the hole, there are twelve, and there are not many leaves, there are three hundred and six pieces. ”

Yu Oumu and Zegzi, after listening to the monkey's report, felt that it was still not detailed, and decided to send Tiebai to follow the monkey and explore it again.

Tie Bai carried the crossbow and carried the arrow to the foot of the tree. Pulling the crossbow as round as the moon, he shot an arrow at the black cypress tree, and the black cypress tree fell seven leaves. And then I shot an arrow, and I dropped nine more leaves. A faint luster, drilled out of the cracks of the leaves.

Tie Bai took an arrow again, and shot an arrow to shoot down a branch. This time, the light was much bigger than before. Tie Bai and the monkey returned to the Heavenly Palace to pay tribute to Theomu and the God of Heaven. The god Tsegertz sent the god Tsinge to put him in charge of chopping the black cypress. In this way, the earth on earth will no longer be dark.

The gods summoned all the gods to discuss how to cut down the black cypress tree. First they decided to send eight gods to cut down The Black Cypress.

The eight tree-cutting gods were tired of cutting down the trees, and they fell back to sleep. When I woke up, the tree healed again. The black cypress tree is as if it had not been cut. The eight tree-cutting gods began to cut again, tired and asleep. But when he woke up, the tree healed again. They had to find a way.

And then the four of them went in shifts to cut down trees, and one group was tired, and then they were in a row. When all was said and done, four people cut four people and rested. After a few turns, I put the black cypress tree down.

After cutting down the black cypress, they feared that the black cypress tree would come back to life on its own. After all, a black cypress tree will heal on its own if it is cut down. So, a heavenly torch was placed to turn the black cedar into ashes.

Only green cypress remained, the golden sun was exposed, the silver moonlight and the stars twinkled, the dark clouds came out, the fog came out, the wind blew up, and brushed everywhere. Everything recovered, exhausted and erected, and everyone woke up with an eyebrow and a smile.

The gods called out to the iron will, bai re, and Che xi, and they came to the green cypress and discussed coming to the calendar. Set the year and month to set the day and time, and write down the perpetual calendar. The day and night are stipulated, and the length of the day is divided.

How can this be determined? The cedar tree, with twelve roots, is determined by the roots, twelve years in a row. The branches have twelve branches, and the month is fixed according to the branches, december of the year.

The trunk has twelve knots, and the days are fixed, twelve days in a round. The cypress tree also passes through twelve holes, and the hour is set by the cave, at twelve o'clock on the day.

There are three hundred and sixty leaves, and the day is fixed according to the leaves, and three hundred and sixty days are set as a year. The good and bad months of the year are divided into auspicious, and the days are divided into good and bad hours.

And the god of the perpetual calendar, and made the rules and the customs, as well as the festivals and all kinds of detailed regulations, and then personally gave this to the people with the eyes. Since then, there has been a calendar in the world.

The story ends everywhere, from the fourth chapter of the Yi epic poem Ahesinimo. In this Year of the Tiger, I will try to compile many, many stories.

As the Year of the Tiger, it is very meaningful. As we all know, Ah Hai is a Yi ethnic group in southern Yunnan and worships tigers. So, this year, I still promote the national culture in my own way. Thank you and may you be lucky!
