Apple has patented a smart sunroof for cars that controls how much light enters the car

IT Home news on February 2, although Apple is completely confidential about this matter, the outside world believes that the company is developing Apple cars. In addition to ongoing negotiations with parties involved in the auto industry, Apple is working around the clock to develop new technologies that could one day be used in its ambitious self-driving electric vehicles.

Apple has patented a smart sunroof for cars that controls how much light enters the car

Recently, Apple filed a patent for a new sunroof design designed to allow drivers to decide how much light enters the car. The idea is not new, apple's approach is based on variable window translucency, where people inside the car are able to easily adjust the brightness inside the cabin by pressing a button.

"Variable translucent areas switch from dimmed to brightened as movable panel components move from the closed position to the open position, while variable translucent areas switch from the brighter state to the darkened state as the movable panel component moves from the open position to the closed position," Apple explains in the patent.

The patent, known as a "removable panel component," was granted on Feb. 1, which of course doesn't mean Apple plans to start mass-producing such car sunroofs.

But on the other hand, this still shows that Apple is very active in the development of cars, even if the company does not develop Apple cars, but because of the technology it develops, it can still be an important player in this market.

It House understands that Apple Cars is expected to debut as early as 2025, and Apple is currently discussing potential supply deals with several third-party companies for basic components, including batteries. Production of the car is likely to be the responsibility of a joint venture between Magna and LG.
