A spokesman for the Macao Police Department pointed out that the police conducted a follow-up investigation into the criminal syndicates, illegal gambling and money laundering cases (Chow Chung Wah case) detected in November last year, during which it was found that 49-year-old Chan and 34-year-old Cai were engaged in related criminal activities, especially illegal online gambling and "gambling bottom" (referring to gambling transactions under the table), and Chen mainly operated and manipulated the criminal syndicates related to illegal gambling, with Cai assisting.
After analysis and investigation, the police officers took an arrest operation on January 28 and brought the two back to the police station for investigation. The police then searched the two men's residence and office for evidence and found a large amount of computers, servers, hard drives, documents and HK$4.1 million in cash suspected of involvement in the crime. According to the China Fund News, the police concluded that the case was related to the Sun City case. Currently, 2 people refuse to cooperate and do not answer police questions.
A spokesman for the police department noted that although the two operations targeted different groups, there was sufficient evidence to show that the people involved in the two groups were involved in the wrongful crime. The Police Department will transfer the two to the procuratorate for investigation on charges of criminal syndicates, illegal gambling and money laundering.
At present, some voices have pointed out that the man surnamed Chen in the case is Chen Ronglian, chairman of Macau Dejin Group, who is the husband of Taiwanese artist An Yixuan. The news has not been confirmed by the police.

In November, Macau gaming tycoon Zhou Zhuohua (nicknamed "Wash Rice Hua") was arrested by the wenzhou procuratorate in Zhejiang Province on suspicion of committing the crime of opening a casino in China. Who is Chen Ronglian?
Chen Ronglian, the husband of Taiwanese entertainer An Yixuan, is also one of the three richest people in Macau, the other two being Wash Mi Hua, who was arrested last year, and Ji Xiaobo, the boyfriend of Taiwanese artist Wu Peici.

The indictment states that Dejin agreed to pay dividends with the defendants who took shares, and conspired to set up an illegal gambling website in the mainland, and Dejin provided a website and a teleportation account to transmit the gambling footage of the Dejin Hall in Manila, Philippines, to the mainland in real time. The case also involved Sun City's gambling hall account, involving a total amount of up to 210 million yuan.
A number of casinos have suspended cooperation with Dejin
Since Suncity Group announced the complete closure of vip lounge business in Macau, it has been reported that a number of Bo companies have proposed to terminate their cooperation with gaming intermediaries and requested the closure of VIP lounges located in the venue.
In early December 2021, it was reported that Wynn Macau and Melco Boya had informed gaming intermediaries that they would close vip rooms operated by gaming intermediaries on 20 and 21 December respectively, and Sands China was rumored to terminate their cooperation with gaming intermediaries at the end of December.

Industry insiders said that for Bo enterprises, cooperation with gambling intermediaries needs to compare profits, after deducting all expenses, the contribution of VIP halls to the net profits of Bo enterprises has been very low, accounting for about 5% of the whole. After the final judgment of the "Multi-Gold Case" and the "Rice Washing" incident were announced successively, once the gambling intermediary had any illegal acts, the Bo enterprise cooperating with it was jointly and severally liable at any time, and due to the "low profit and high risk", the Bo enterprise would rather terminate the VIP room cooperation.
Some people have bluntly said that the relevant news means that the VIP hall system will have a great chance to become history.
