On January 29, Chery Automobile's Qingdao base project ushered in new progress. The reporter learned from the construction party that the main structure of the project painting workshop and the assembly workshop was capped on the same day, which means that the four major workshops have all completed the main construction, and it is planned that the process equipment will begin to enter in April.

On February 26, 2021, Chery Automobile's Qingdao base broke ground, including four workshop construction projects of stamping, welding, painting and final assembly. In the early stage, the stamping workshop and welding workshop of the first phase of the project have been capped by the main body. The second phase of the project is divided into three single bodies: painting workshop, sewage treatment station and power center, and the three single main structures are all completed, and the finishing of the roof steel structure of the painting workshop and the construction of the peripheral protective structure of the power center are being carried out. At the same time, the construction of the main structure was also completed in the third phase of the project, including the assembly workshop and the sorting workshop.

The reporter learned that Chery Automobile's Qingdao base plans a total investment of 23 billion yuan, mainly including passenger cars, new energy commercial vehicles, export KD, as well as related supporting parts and logistics projects, and the annual output value of the entire base can reach more than 50 billion yuan after production. Among them, Chery Qingdao passenger car project took the lead in launching, planning to invest 13 billion yuan, mainly producing Tiggo 9X platform series passenger cars, planning to achieve vehicle off the production line in November 2022, with an annual output of 300,000 vehicles and an annual output value of more than 38 billion yuan after production.

At present, Jimo District has formed FAW-Volkswagen East China Production Base, FAW Jiefang Commercial Vehicle Base, FAW Jiefang New Energy Light Truck Base, Chery Automobile Qingdao Base four major vehicle leading drive, covering chassis system, automotive electronics and other core supporting 100 billion industrial clusters, the automobile industry has become one of the 25 characteristic industrial clusters in the province, and was selected as Qingdao International Investment Industrial Park, is applying for the national new industrialization industry demonstration base.
