Recently, there are overseas media reports that Daimler or will be renamed Mercedes-Benz on February 1, after splitting the truck business, Daimler chose to change its name, aiming to emphasize its more focus on zero-emission vehicles and software business.

In February 2021, Daimler's Board of Directors and Supervisory Board decided to make a fundamental adjustment to the group structure, planning to list Daimler Trucks separately after independence, and Daimler Trucks was officially listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on December 10, 2021.

The name change is also the third major change in Daimler's history, the first being the formation of Daimler Chrysler from 1998 to 2007, and the second being the sale of Chrysler to Cerberus Capital Management in 2007 to become Daimler AG.
